I like Gabriel, Edward, Ezra and Xavier, Clementine, Paloma and Saffron. I also like Gwen but prefer it as a nickname for Gwendolyn / Gwendolen / Gwendoline.

Sophronia · 10/11/2014 16:39

Also, good luck for this month!

burgatroyd · 10/11/2014 17:35

I love your list!

Faces are Ezra and Gwen short for Gwendolyn is above poster said. Can also have nn Dolly.

Also love Paloma and Saffron.

Suggestions - Constance, Orson, Sapphire, Blossom, Peter, Esmeralda

shakemysilliesout · 10/11/2014 17:48

Love all except piper and sawyer. Good luck!

BarryTheHatchet · 10/11/2014 18:38

Isaac - very popular round here, it's becoming the new Joshua
Sawyer - too American for me
Gabriel - love it
Edward(Teddy) - not a fan of Thomas The Tank Victoriana names
Casper - love it
Sebastian - love it
Seth - love it
Ezra - love it
Spencer - unusual and rather good
Xavier - too X Men

Clementine - lovely but I'd feel too poncey using it
Piper - too American
Scarlett - too Amber/Paige
Megan - very very very dull indeed
Violet - nice but v trendy
Sydney - only like Cyd
Robin - nice but prefer with a y
Gwen - sturdy plain name
Paloma - gorgeous
Saffron - gorgeous

RabbitSaysWoof · 10/11/2014 18:48

Gabriel and Piper are my favourite but they are all great names.

Irishkez · 10/11/2014 18:57

Fab lists!

My 2 favs:

Spencer

Clementine

MrsHathaway · 10/11/2014 19:01

From best to worst, with a line between names I'd use and names I wouldn't:

BOYS
Sebastian
Edward(Teddy)
-
Gabriel
Spencer
Casper
Xavier
Sawyer
Isaac
Seth
Ezra

GIRLS

Clementine
Scarlet[t]
Violet
Saffron
-
Gwen
Megan
Robin
Piper
Paloma
Sydney

Why not Sidney or Robin for a boy?
Why not Sawyer for a girl?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Clementine and Sebastian.

itfcbabe · 10/11/2014 19:17

Robyn was meant to be spelt with a y.

Gabriel happens to be my all-time favourite boys' name, so obviously that would be my top pick. Also really like Isaac, although its current popularity puts me off a little.

My girls' choice would be Paloma - it's exotic and unusual, without being weird, and it's also pretty straightforward to pronounce. Like the dove/Picasso connections too. Second choice would probably be Clementine - it's very pretty, but possibly a bit stereotypically posh, and I'm not a fan of the nickname Clemmie (which just makes me think clammy/phlegmy). Not a fan of Sydney or Megan (although Sidonie is quite nice), and Saffron just reminds me of Ab Fab (plus I've taught a few quite spoilt/entitled Saffrons, so some bad associations there).
