Libby, Betsy, Bessie or Bess.

MollyBdenum · 05/11/2014 19:32

I have a cool and lovely aunt Zab.

Iheartautumn · 05/11/2014 19:35

Beth

ChippingInAutumnLover · 05/11/2014 19:36

Libby then Beth x

Minty82 · 05/11/2014 19:36

Molly do you really?! My sister's called Elizabeth and my dad spent most of her childhood on a futile campaign to call her Zab - you've no idea how happy it makes me to hear of a genuine one!

MollyBdenum · 05/11/2014 19:37

She's French - I think it's a more common abbreviation in French.

BikeRunSki · 05/11/2014 19:38

Libby

CSLewis · 05/11/2014 19:39

My DD's name :-) spelt with an s though.

I wanted her nn to be Libby, but DH vetoed because of Neighbours Angry so she's Lily, Lillabub, Lisbeth - but mainly Lily.

I also like Beth, and Nell.

IdaClair · 05/11/2014 19:40

The one that naturally and spontaneously emerges as a fond name as the child gets older....

mewkins · 05/11/2014 19:40

Mine is a Lizzie. The other two little ones I know are Libby and Libs.

TheoreticalDudeOfFeminism · 05/11/2014 19:42

I know one who uses Buzz as a nn - it suits her and I quite like it.

AGnu · 05/11/2014 19:50

We've got 4 Elizabeths in our family & I'd love to call any future daughter the same but with a nickname that isn't already spoken for. Across 3 generations we have Lilly, Liz, Betty & Beth. I rather like Betsi (the Welsh spelling, but we no longer live in Wales), Lissy (too cutesy?), Bess (too old fashioned?) but have only just discovered that Liesel could be used as a nickname so I'm rather liking that at the moment!

Love Zab. That's definitely going on the list of shortenings that DH will veto instantly!

Minty82 · 05/11/2014 19:53

Oh, I never knew that!

StopBarking · 05/11/2014 19:54

I know 2 Lizzies, 1 Betty, a Lilibet and a Bizzy.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/11/2014 20:09

Outing myself rather here, but I had always intended my Elizabeth to be a Beth. But she was Lizzie before she was a week old. Still not quite sure how that happened.

pilates · 05/11/2014 20:17

Libby or Lizzy.

I'm not keen on Betty, Bess, Betsy or Beth.
