Surname had two syllables and we can't decide between Elizabeth or Grace as a middle name. Thoughts please!

Pantsonfire?

FrazzledFandango · 03/11/2014 21:28

I was going to say Elizabeth or Jane before I read your options.

BathshebaDarkstone · 03/11/2014 21:35

I like Elizabeth, that's DD1's middle name.Smile

FabulousFudge · 03/11/2014 21:40

Grace - perfect!

snice · 03/11/2014 21:43

i thought Lyra Jane or Lyra Claire

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 03/11/2014 21:45

Bigfoot Hmm

or Lyra Joy? I think it needs a single syllable middle name so Beth would work better than Elizabeth

VenusRising · 03/11/2014 21:46

Not Harper anyway. Sorry, couldn't resist! Blush

Lyra Grace has a nice ring to it.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 03/11/2014 21:46

Was thinking Joy but dh doesn't like. He thinks we should go for something mainstream for middle name as Lyra isn't in top 100

Lyra's a lovely first name, prefer grace to Elizabeth as middle name.

EverythingCounts · 03/11/2014 22:14

Agree that a one-syllable name is better so Elizabeth, while a beautiful name, is too much. I opened the thread thinking 'Lyra Jean'...

TinyTear · 04/11/2014 09:27

I know a 2yo Lyra

I think she is Lyra Jane? or Lyra Jessica? I think it's something with J but can't remember

moxon · 04/11/2014 14:32

My first thought was also Louise, similar to others', before I even opened the thread.

Pebbles0934 · 04/11/2014 17:14

My first thought was Lyra Belle. But a Grace is nice too!

BeccadeWinter · 04/11/2014 17:27

I see others have suggested Lyra Jane. I love it, though I think Jane is one of those middle names that goes with almost anything.

Lyra June is pretty, too.

BeccadeWinter · 04/11/2014 17:28

I forgot to give my opinions on your actual choices! I think Lyra Grace is lovely. Lyra Elizabeth doesn't flow quite as well for me, but is still good.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 06/11/2014 12:10

Thanks for all hour views - much appreciated. I do love Lyra Grace. Only problem is that neither my husband nor I are very graceful people, actually both rather clumsy so maybe Grace will be the wrong choice!

Raeray · 06/11/2014 12:19

I like both of your options! But I think grace just pips the post.
I came on ready to suggest Lyra Elise - not sure if you'd like that?

Mutteroo · 06/11/2014 13:41

Sometimes a shorter first name suits a longer middle name, but on this occasion I feel both your choices are wonderful. BTW most people are known by their first names so its not going to matter too much what you decide so whether you & DH are graceful or not isn't going to be a problem.

I also like Lyra with Matilda, Penelope, Josephine & Charlotte.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 06/11/2014 13:45

Thanks Muteroo Grin

atticusclaw · 07/11/2014 16:30

Belaqua definitely

Purpleflamingos · 07/11/2014 16:47

Grace is nice.

My first thoughts were Anne, Rose or Grace.
