Not urgent help, but help needed nonetheless!

Hi

I'm only 18weeks but I'm banned from talking about names with OH until after Christmas.

We (I) am struggling with both boys and girls names - we won't be finding out that go with the other children we have collectively
DSS1 - S (OT prophet biblical - always shortened)
DSS2 - C (think Prince of Wales - but shortened to the Bonny Prince version)
DS1 - A (think Great, but also always shortened to the most obvious)

So, we have 3 boys with long names shortened - so I would prefer a similar tack for this one.

So far, the only boys name we like that fits is Benedict (both like Ben, neither like Benjamin)

Girl was always planned to be Jessica - but lately I've been going slowly off it as I don't think it's quite me (or us!)

Can use O liver or L ucy as they are names of DNeph & DNiece

Any thoughts?

Of long/short boys' names I like:

Alexander/Alex
Edward/Ted
or possibly Lawrence/Laurie (can never decide if Laurie is too girly) and William/Will/Billy/Liam.

I like Ben but am not keen on either Benedict (too posh and reminds me of monks) or Benjamin (too twee).

For girls in the same vein I like Catherine and all its various spellings and derivatives (Katie and Katia particularly). It is a very common name in my generation but less so for dd's - don't know if that is a pro or a con.
