I like Louisa and Rosanna from the girls list, and Reuben, Fraser, Edgar and Daniel from the boys.

Squirm · 23/10/2014 22:39

Alice and Edgar

Mrsgrumble · 23/10/2014 22:44

Alice or Eloise would be my favourites

Daniel is getting very popular (but what does that matter) but would be e only one of the boys that I like. I haven't heard of Ezra

VioletVelvet · 23/10/2014 22:46

I love Alice, Eloise, Reuben and Daniel from your list.

Snowflakepie · 23/10/2014 22:52

Kids don't know the Alice song now, I know a number of little Alice's and it's not an issue! Lovely name.
I also like Eloise and know a very cool teen with that name.
Louisa is more classic, will become Lou tho. Eloise could be Ellie. Francesca I'm on the fence with, Fran is a bit meh, Chessie also meh, Frankie I do like.
Rosanna will be Rosie. So worth thinking about the nicknames.

Daniel v popular but a lot of boy names are. I love Fraser. I always think Ezra sounds like a girls name but I don't know any.

CaptainDragon · 23/10/2014 22:54

Just an FYI, Cora is the name of a French supermarket ...

Love Rosanna and Fraser though!

Jaffamoon · 23/10/2014 22:54

Alice, Louisa and Edgar, great names op!

Kantha · 24/10/2014 00:28

Alice and Daniel

mathanxiety · 24/10/2014 03:18

I like Alice and Louisa from your girls' list.

Carissa, Francesca, Eloise and Rosanna I find too frilly.

The popularity of Cora bemuses me as this was the name of two of my middle aged teachers in Dublin in the late 70s. They were the sort of women you couldn't imagine at any age other than late 50s. I think it was massively popular in Ireland in the early 1930s. I found it astonishing to see it used as an 'upstairs' name on Downton Abbey as it would definitely not carry UC connotations for me.

From your boys' list I like Everett, Fraser, Edgar and Reuben.

MummyBeerest · 24/10/2014 03:32

Alice and Cora

Edgar and Ezra

SurfsUp1 · 24/10/2014 04:46

I like all your girls names except Carissa. Cora not as much as the others either. I think it's only popular bc of DA.
Of the boys I only like Daniel. Edgar is particularly ugly sounding to me. I picture a hunchback type character in an old film. Sorry!

JuniorMint · 24/10/2014 05:36

I have a 6mo Alice, have had nothing but compliments and only ONE mention of "who the f* is Alice?" (DH's Grandad!) which I gritted my teeth through (NB the original of that song isn't too bad compared to the novelty Roy Chubby Brown one!). Most people mention the Wonderland connection and I have had the books, posters, clothes and toys with that theme.

As well as Alice from your list I also like Eloise, Cora and Francesca, and the boys Rueben and I like Ezra but don't think I would ever use it myself.

Farah33 · 24/10/2014 06:01

Really like Rosanna, Eloise, Louisa, Ezra and Daniel.

SarahCraine · 24/10/2014 06:35

i really like Francesca and Edgar

rachel234 · 24/10/2014 07:18

hlc123 · 24/10/2014 10:50

Love Carissa and Fraser

Lunastarfish · 24/10/2014 11:22

I love your girls names especially Francesca cora and Louisa. I have a pathological hatred of Alice though (!) I'm not particularly keen on your bits names though :-(

Lunastarfish · 24/10/2014 11:22

*boys!!!

DecaffTastesWeird · 24/10/2014 16:40

My faves are:

Alice
Cora
Francesca

Reuben
Fraser (only really sounds right in a Scottish accent IMO though, so depends where you live)!
Daniel

JuanChappay · 24/10/2014 20:49

Thanks everyone! I have just realised that I can't use Alice is it far too similar to a close family member's name. How it's taken me this long to realise that is beyond me! Shame as it is pretty.

Bloody Downton Abbey has ruined Cora! I've always loved the name but admittedly it does sound a bit daft with our surname and DH is not keen. I'm not quite ready to let it go though!

I sway between thinking Edgar is awesome and thinking it is a bit ugly sounding. Boys names are so difficult.

Thank you for all your thoughts. Smile

Ok....
If we have another girl, her middle name is going to be Alice so I think that's a great choice ;)
I love Eloise too, that was one of my choices for dd1. And Everett from the boys name is gorgeous!
