Thatwhen I'm not pregnant, lots and lots of names sound lovely, but when I am, everything is "meh"?

Arghhh! I love baby names! I read baby name blogs all the time. I think of future DC! Blush

But now, when actually and truly up the duff, all my former favorite names sound...not right.

Frances? No. Penelope? No. Susannah? No. Aurelia? Too fancy.

Some things: I'm not due til June, but I feel like it's going to take me a looong time to come up with something, so I'm starting early! This is DC3. DC1 is Samuel called Sam, DC2 is Margaret called Maggie.

I'd like a more formal name with a shortening that the baby is called by, like my other two. And we are American, so some things (like sisters named Margaret and Elizabeth) don't really matter.

I think (due to some symptoms) it is a girl. If not, he will probably be William called Will. ("Willy" for penis not being A Thing here :) ) So...any ideas?

Phoebe is my favorite (even though it doesn't follow the long name with a nickname thing) but DH doesn't like.

I love Sam and Maggie! If it helps, DS is William (he isn't quite 2 and still called William at the moment, but fully expect it to be shortened to Will) and our 2 week old DD is Eleanor, although we call her Nell. Neither are the most original names, but classic and strong and we adore them
