My friend is about to have her baby and top of the list of boy's names is Roscoe. Initially I wasn't keen but it's grown on me the more she says it!
Middle name would be James and as bump is yellow, for a girl it would be Taryn Kate which again has grown on me. She's not telling anyone else but is worried people might think her names too "weird".
What's your opinion?

Some people don't like Roscoe because of a Dukes of Hazzard connection, but I do like it and my opinion is more valuable.

Taryn I'm not so keen on, sounds like a character from a Sweet Valley High book. A bitchy cheerleader or similar. Plus people will think she's called Karen.

I think they are quite out there, but not completely weird. They seem like the kinds of names that will quite quickly seem normal when attached to a real person.

Both truly awful.

chloecorey · 16/10/2014 12:44

Oooh its different, i like it Smile

chloecorey · 16/10/2014 12:44

Roscoe i mean dont fancy the girl name.

JeanChappa · 16/10/2014 12:52

They are both unusual but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I like them both and Roscoe will have the option of being Ross if he prefers. Thumbs up from me!

Sylviet · 16/10/2014 13:15

Is trying rather hard to be 'different'?

Don't find the names weird.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/10/2014 18:03

I think Roscoe is bloomin' awful, sorry. Taryn - I don't like it much but it's a million times better than Roscoe.

SnoringNorma · 17/10/2014 12:35

I hated both when I first heard them but they've grown on me and fit in with her family's eccentric naming style. Don't want to reveal her or her brother's name but I'd never heard either of them before. Family won't bat an eyelid... "friends" might!
