Just that, really. I'm 28 weeks with dc2 and just thinking, help, we will need a name soon! Previous favourites (for dc1 who turned out to be Sebastian)included jasmine, jemima, Elliot and Nathaniel but gone off those a bit now having too long to think about it.

The only Sebastian I know has a brother called Oliver and a sister called Emily.

moggle · 15/10/2014 16:03

Probably no help, but the two little Sebastians I know, one has a brother called Robin and the other has a sister called Alexandra. I know a Sebastian my age, and he has two sisters called Emma and Adele.

I think Elliot goes quite well for a boy. Do you call your DS1 Seb or Sebastian? (or another NN.) If you don't like nicknames Sebastian and Nathaniel may become a bit of a mouthful...

SerenaVDW · 15/10/2014 16:24

Sebastian was on our list along with Elliot, Laurence, Edward, Benjamin, Clara (DD), Lucia, Eloise and Jemima.

StoneFoxMama · 15/10/2014 18:00

I've got Sebastian and Oliver, but if I'd really had my way Oliver would have been Rafe/Rafael, Hugo or in one hormonal moment, August Orion.

Girl options were Jemima, Tabitha, Pandora, Antigone, Juno or Flora.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 15/10/2014 18:03

Oh I opened the thread to suggest Elliot but u see youve gone off that.

So Ill say Rupert, Lawrence, for boys and Olive and Hannah for girls.

Lovely name.

Like philippa , Florence, Catherine, Louise , Alexandra, . I also like Cordelia but that would be far too Waugh. Frances or Francesca? Georgina?

Jonathan, William, robin?

Singmetosleepzzz · 15/10/2014 21:17

We have a Sebastian too and saved Leo in case DC2 was a boy. She is a girl!

Boys: Conrad or Laurence
Girls: Constance or Felicity

SanityClause · 15/10/2014 21:21

I know a Sebastian with a brother called Artur (not Arthur). Artur is older, though.

dementedma · 15/10/2014 21:26

Sebastian is a gorgeous name.

Ooh thanks so far. Most of these are on my imaginary list anyway so we are all probably along the same lines. I don't think I've quite ruled out the original short list - including Elliot - but yes Nathaniel might be a mouthful and I don't really like any of the nicknames for it. We don't really yet call Sebastian anything for short although I am sure we will and others will a some point. I do love names ending in belle and it's only been this evening (duh!) when I've realised I can't have Belle :)

Please do keep 'me coming. It's so hard trying to find a name you really love isn't it!

Oh I love Laurence but it's the name of a prominent ex so I can't put that on Dh...

I have a friend with a Sebastian and a Luca. Love both their names!

freelancegirl · 16/10/2014 04:23

Luca is fab but I just don't know if we can get away with it with no Italian connections. I do have Spanish connections, another reason why Sebastian works well as it works well in Spanish too.

Oliver seems the obvious choice but I would avoid due to its huge popularity. I think Gabriel sounds nice and not overused.

freelancegirl · 16/10/2014 15:39

Gabriel is lovely but we have one in close friendship circle. And yes I love Oliver but a bit too popular for me at the moment. Do love it though, and Ollie.
