Am pregnant with DC2, and this time we are having a little girl (YAY!).

Since I was a little girl I've had the name Tiggy picked out as my future daughter's name. I absolutely love it and can not think of a single other name that I like better than this one.

The problem you ask? Well, my DP's surname is Winkle. Yes, that's right, her name would be Tiggy Winkle. I know you are all probably laughing, but I still love it! I am just picturing the nursery all decorated in a Beatrix Potter theme and think it would be really cute.

Do you think it would be cruel? I'm thinking that she will probably one day want to get married so its not like it will be he name forever. Or she could change it when she is 18 if she likes.

I also think the name goes well with her brothers name. He is William but we call him Willy.

WowserBowser · 15/10/2014 10:20

Hoho

AmeliaPeabody · 15/10/2014 10:21

Very funny Smile

If, on the slight off chance, you're not actually joking. Do you really need to ask?

dancestomyowntune · 15/10/2014 10:22

I am pregnant with dc5, when ttc my mum said we had to call the baby Tiger. Now I'm pregnant the name has stuck and I have said that if its a girl I will use the nickname Tiggy. I like it.

squoosh · 15/10/2014 10:25

My name is Peter Rabbit, and I'm a woman.

So I say go for it!

Choccyhobnob · 15/10/2014 10:29

It's sad I always wanted to use the name Jemima but think she might get ridiculed as my DPs surname is Puddleduck....

C'mon really??

WowserBowser · 15/10/2014 10:30

My surname is Pepper. First Name Peter. MNs Piper Stole Pickled.

You could have Rip Van for any future boys?

Only1scoop · 15/10/2014 10:31

Very funny Op

Storytimefan · 15/10/2014 11:07

Is it really that funny? I'm hoping that not everyone would automatically make the connection. sometimes the obvious ones slip by don't they?

I went to school with a girl called Jenny Taylor, and she managed to get all the way to 6th form before anyone realised her name sounded like genitalia.

My RL dd is Tiggy but thankfully not of the Winkle variety Smile

rachel234 · 15/10/2014 11:48

This is a joke, right? Your son is called Willy Winkle?!

Gavlarrr · 15/10/2014 11:53

Got to be a joke. If it isn't then NO YOU CANT CALL HER TIGGY WINKLE. give her your surname, otherwise it's just cruel.

rachel234 · 15/10/2014 11:54

I think Tiggy Winkle isn't as bad as Willy Winkle Shock!

elvisola · 15/10/2014 11:58

You had me until Willy Winkle Smile

squoosh · 15/10/2014 11:59

Tiggy Winkle and Willie Winkle make lovely sibling names.

Gotta have a little Perry Winkle to finish off the set though!

Bumpngrind85 · 15/10/2014 15:36

This has really broken up my 3 trimester blues...

fuzzpig · 15/10/2014 15:43

:o

RomulanBattleBagel · 15/10/2014 15:44

How about "Rockyandbull"

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/10/2014 17:50

No. You cannot call her Tiggy as her given name.

elenasmile · 15/10/2014 19:27

I think it's rather a nice name :)

AugustaGloop · 15/10/2014 19:29

I do actually know someone called Peter Rabbit (well, actually, its Peter Abbott, but sounds the same to me)

amigababy · 15/10/2014 19:29

Perry is also a good choice Smile

Bowlersarm · 15/10/2014 19:30

Ha ha.

Castlemilk · 15/10/2014 19:31

Could you hyphenate your surnames OP? - maybe that might dilute it a bit?

Go on, you're going to tell me now that your surname is Picker Grin

Castlemilk · 15/10/2014 19:32

LOL at Peter Abbott!!!! Grin

HA! How many poor blokes must have been called that through the years! Bwah ha ha
