Kasper as middle name?

DH and I are both half-Dutch (living in Uk) and we are considering Kasper as a middle name (Dutch spelling and more popular name in Holland than in UK). But DH is worried people will immediately associate the name with Casper the ghost. Baby's first name will be Gabriel. I kind of like Gabriel Kasper, but do you think it is too fanciful sounding, or would make you think of the friendly ghost?!

First thought - one of the Three Kings (from Orient are).

Second thought - it's spelt "wrongly". I'm in the UK so would expect a C.

Third though - friendly ghost.

Love Gabriel, though.

It's a good name. The spelling is correct for you and your heritage. Use it. It's not a made up name/Spelling of the sort that MN frown on. Just because it isn't the usual UK spelling doesn't mean it isn't valid.

I just think of the friendly ghost, sorry.

I think they're both lovely, I wouldn't automatically think of the ghost and honestly I can't remember the last time my kids used their middle name anyway. I never use mine and I think the last time I heard my husbands was when we got married. I wouldn't worry about the spelling, it's a different spelling due to culture/language.

I love Gabriel Smile

I love Kasper/Kaspar/Casper.

Is that show still on any more?

I short listed both Gabriel/Djibril and Caspar for December born DS.
Also Cassius.
