Leonie Frances or Romily Kathleen?

Utterly torn between these two, so wondered which one people prefer? Leonie Frances or Romily Kathleen? Obviously we may change our minds after actually seeing DD but would love some opinions in the meantime.

Perhaps worth mentioning that we aren't considering alternatives like Leona (I like it, DH doesn't) or Leonora (okay but not wild about it).

We were thinking Kathleen as a middle name for both options until we realised LEonie KathLEEn would be LE- overload.

Not unless you are 7 StoneFox

My daughters name ends with 'a' rather than 'ie'

Leonie Frances. I knew a Leonie at school and she was Lee-OH-nee rather than LAY-oh-nee

StoneFoxMama · 17/10/2014 15:25

Are we talking mental age or real age? Because 7 is about right at times!

Beehatch · 17/10/2014 16:05

Grin I know how that feels!

Whatisaweekend · 17/10/2014 18:22

Romily Frances.

Yep, I'd go Romily Frances too. Kathleen seems a very dowdy name to me. Is it usually spelled Romilly, or have I made that up?

LizzieMint · 19/10/2014 09:32

Leonie was one of my favourite names on our list, never got to use it though. I'd say it lay-oh-nee.
Romilly is also lovely, but agree it's usually spelled with 2 l's I think.

Dinnerfor1 · 19/10/2014 17:05

I much prefer Leonie. But my Grandma lives in Romiley, so with the name Romily, all I can think of is her and Stockport!

Snapespotions · 19/10/2014 17:15

I really hate Romily, think it's a dreadful name - sorry.

Leonie Frances is ok. The Leonie we know puts the emphasis on the "o".

Leonie Frances :)

I love the name Leonie, it was one of our final 3 names for dd 10 years ago ..... plus dh's star sign is Leo so it kind of had a meaning too. Anyhow, she got called something else but I still love the name.

Romily is stunning.
