Does this sound silly?

Very very pregnant with DS and really want to call him Benjamin using Ben most of the time.
Both very happy with this but I'm Jenny. Is Jen and Ben really awful? I think I might do a hormonal cry if it's back to the drawing board. It only occurred to me today. Arse.

No. If you're fabulously yourselves it will be just fine! Grin

Floggingmolly · 09/10/2014 15:03

You won't usually be introduced as Jen and Ben though, will you? If you were a couple you'd sound like a comedy double act, but you and your son; fine.

fairgame · 09/10/2014 15:05

I think it's fine.

BananaToast · 09/10/2014 15:11

I skimmed your message when it first opened and thought it was about calling your two children Ben and Jerry. That wouldn't be ideal, but your actual situation is completely fine. Ben is a lovely name, I'd use it if I could and wouldn't be at all put off by being called Jenny.

Ludways · 09/10/2014 15:19

I think that's fine. It wouldn't occur to me.

Agree with this! Smile

Fine for mother/son. I wouldn't like it for siblings

Artandco · 09/10/2014 16:13

Can use nn benji also

grufallosfriend · 09/10/2014 16:45

Would be too similar with siblings (Ben and Jen) but I think mother and son is fine.

cherrybombxo · 09/10/2014 16:56

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are married with kids, no-one mocks them! I say go with Ben Smile

squoosh · 09/10/2014 16:58

Ben Affleck liked being part of a Ben/Jen combo so much that he was engaged to Jennifer Lopez prior to marrying Jennifer Garner.

LittleRedDinosaur · 09/10/2014 17:49

Thanks everyone- another pregnancy hormone emotional crisis avoided!

I actually know siblings called Ben and Jen but as they are the oldest and youngest of 4, it's never been an issue. Go for it.

temporaryusername · 09/10/2014 18:44

One of the best boy's names ever, you've chosen well OP!

iwouldgoouttonight · 09/10/2014 18:47

Dp's and DD's names rhyme. Never been a problem. Benjamin/Ben is a lovely choice. I know a Ben who is very cute.

Dolly80 · 09/10/2014 18:48

I know a couple called Ben and Jen! Think it was amusing once then completely ok...Benjamin is a lovely traditional name

Allalonenow · 09/10/2014 18:51

Benjamin is a great name, and is no problem with your own name.

Dovahkiin · 09/10/2014 20:16

My BF of 15 years is a Jenny, her brother is Ben - and I hadn't even noticed til I read this! Def think you can get away with it.
