I've decided on Anna as a girls name but am torn between these for a boy. Middle name elwyn.

Any thoughts? :)

Rory

Allalonenow · 07/10/2014 18:46

Both fab names, I'd say wait and see if he looks like a Rory or a Sebastian.

figgieroll · 07/10/2014 18:50

Sebastian is stunning

heartscakescandles · 07/10/2014 18:50

Rory. Our friends just named their little boy thus and he's gorgeous.

AlpacaYourThings · 07/10/2014 18:51

Sebastian by a country mile!

NewEraNewMindset · 07/10/2014 18:52

I have a Sebastian and it is a beautiful name.

MumOfTheMoos · 07/10/2014 18:52

I love both, but Sebastian just moves ahead for me. I would keep both in mind and wait till you meet him or her. We had two names and although we went for my favourite in the end, it was really good to have another to check that the favourite was, in fact the right one!

Bowlersarm · 07/10/2014 18:53

Rory

heartscakescandles · 07/10/2014 18:54

Oh no! Divided opinion!

I think Rory maybe goes better with Elwyn. But I think I might prefer Sebastian. It's a bit of a mouthful though and quite 'posh' (this is NOT a posh area!)

I wonder if Rory would fit in better at the local special measures primary than Sebastian would?

Rory is my favourite of the two, but I do like Sebastian.

summerlovingliz · 07/10/2014 18:59

Rory for sure!

BotoxednSpanxed · 07/10/2014 19:00

Rory.

Sebastian is too long. It's a bit clichéd as well imo, like Rupert.

tuffgingernut · 07/10/2014 19:01

Hard decision both great names I prefer Sebastian but like you said Rory would probably be easier during the school years. Both go great with your chosen middle name though.

Dinosaurdrip · 07/10/2014 19:16

I have a Sebastian, I love the name Rory too. My Sebastian is at school now and they asked how we/he would like To be referred to as. He decided on Seb and so although he knows his name is Sebastian he has a much easier time at school using this shortened version. He is not confused by the fact that we call him sebastian at home and his friends and teachers all call him Seb.

ScrambledEggAndToast · 07/10/2014 19:18

Rory

Anotheronesoon · 07/10/2014 19:20

Rory - love it was a close contender for my ds2. Personally I think Sebastian sounds very posh- but then again perhaps you are very posh! Wink

SilentBob · 07/10/2014 19:27

My nephew is Sebastian- I had a hand in choosing it and I'm so so proud! (Hi, sis, if you're here Wink) I have always loved his name. He goes by his full name, Seb or Bas. We are not posh. Grin "my" second choice for nephew was Theo. I still love Theo! Any chance you'd consider Theo?

Rory is a great name too but my vote is definitely for Sebastian.

Chloris33 · 07/10/2014 19:33

Rory is becoming quite popular at the moment - I've seen it in a lot of birth announcements, which I've been trawling for inspiration for our baby. Just mentioning in case that has any bearing either way.

turdfairynomore · 07/10/2014 19:41

Sebastian. I've always loved it-since "brideshead" days!! Rory is fine but more popular especially in NI (& Rory mcilroy's success will probably add to its popularity too)

ajandjjmum · 07/10/2014 19:46

It has to be Sebastian.

funnyoldonion · 07/10/2014 19:51

Love both, feel like Rory is more of a trendy name and Sebastian a classic. Sebastian has been my favourite boys name for as long as I can remember but I have to little girls! One with a slightly trendy name which annoys the hell out of me at times! Xxx

funnyoldonion · 07/10/2014 19:52

Ps I love Anna too x

Northernrose · 07/10/2014 21:11

Love all three name choices. Have friends with this exact debate over boys names, they chose Sebastian and he is the only one I know who under ten. Love the name! Seb good nn too. Enjoy choosing, with two great names you can always see what you think 'fits' when you see him, if it is a he!

katiegee · 07/10/2014 21:30

Both are lovely names but if I had to choose I'd go for Rory.
