Emelie or Rosa?

We love both names, but worry that Emelie (/Emily) is far too popular at the moment as it's in the top three and people will misspell her name as they'll always think of Emily first. We like the unusal spelling as it's similar to Amelie but not quite so trendy. I think we would have Emelie Rose or Rosa Charlotte (possibly). I already have a little boy called William. we both like 'classic' names. Any thoughts?

Your names are all fine. But please spell Emily properly.

Rosa as that Emelie spelling would be an arse ache to go through life with.

shakemysilliesout · 06/10/2014 16:24

I like Rosa and Charlotte. Emily I like but I agree about spelling. I feel it should be spelt Emily.

I would go with Emily or Emilia not Emelie as it'll get spelt incorrectly all the time...

I do like Emily and Rosa - actually prefer Charlotte though!

Rosa is great, I prefer it to both Emelie and Emily

Rosa, it's gorgeous! I would love to use it but my cousin has one so would be like I was copying her!

or else defo go for Emily spelling, other way is just a lifetime of correcting people.

but rosa is much nicer

Rosa

I'm an Emilie (I'm French-speaking, so French spelling) and it's a really annoying name to have in England. Weirdly, the most common misspelling I get is Emile (which is the male version of Emilie), not Emily. It's really annoying, and I would guess that an Emelie wouldn't have an easier time of it. It might also get confused with Emelle, which is an Arabic name.

My little girl is called Emily Rose so i think both your names are fab Smile

Thank you all for your responses. I think we may go for Emily Rose for all the very good advice reasons above! :) Thank you for helping.
