Baylor?

We were originally going with Laurel for our DD, but DH discovered this today and really likes it, but I'm a little unsure - what are MN's opinions?
He really likes the meaning of it and it does fit our family - it means horse trainer.

No, absolutely not Baylor. Names are an integral part of whom we are, she will not thank you at all for calling her that and I would imagine it would be changed by her in later years.

Laurel is somewhat better.

To me, 'Baylor' looks like there's been a typo when trying to Taylor or something.

It sounds made up - like half the names round here. I don't think people look to the future and think what the child is going to look like thirty years down the road with a strange name Confused

Bailey or Taylor not my taste but passable. Baylor, erm, isn't. Sorry

Laurel is really lovely.

Do not like Baylor at all. It might be anglo-saxon in origin but it sounds made-up in contemporary terms. Also, I agree that it sounds like more of a male name.
