Hi everyone!
Me and my partner are really struggling for a girls name (3rd girl). We thought we were having a boy and picked teddy but actually having a girl. I would still love to use teddy but unsure?

Any one know of any girls called teddy?

Theodora nn Teddy?

I don't think most boys known as Teddy have that on their birth certificate, because it sounds a bit silly.

Mammanat222 · 05/10/2014 19:12

It's short for Theadora is it not?

I am not a massive fan for Teddy on a boy (Edward I like) but I like it even less for a girl.

Far too cutesy, much more of a nn.

I don't like Teddy for a girl.

Thea?

Robbie Williams' daughter is Theodora nn Teddy, that's the only one I know of. Not a fan myself as I don't like Theodora!

I know one. She hates it now she is 35. It seems to lose its cuteness for a while. But we have reassured her that once she hits her 70's it will seem cute again for her.

I know a Theodora nn Teddy. I like it.

Hmmm. I love Ted for a boy, long name Edward or Theodore and Teddy maybe when very small. But with the girl's name you have more limited options to make it 'grow up'

Like Theodora a lot (called my DS Theodore nn Teddy). The only female Teddy I know of was a character in Nip/Tuck! Think it's sort of nice though in a way!

Alisvolatpropiis · 07/10/2014 17:52

Teddy isn't unusual in the same way your older daughters names are.

Are there any other names you like for a girl?

Isola is lovely but very unusual?

moxon · 08/10/2014 06:27

I think Theodora will be grand. And it offers lots of female and gender-neutral nicknames. Go for it.

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 08/10/2014 06:50

My youngest is called Teddy and its on his birth certificate as Teddy. I love his name. Lots don't like it but that doesn't bother me at all.

If he was a girl I think I still would have used the name Teddy. If you aren't sure perhaps save it for a boy.

For a girl I like Tilly, Elodie and Dolly Grin
