Max's sibling should be called.....

I'm finally pregnant with number 2 after an emotional Ivf journey. And I'm now starting to relax and enjoy it. With that comes thinking about baby names....

Our first is called Max, his full name is Maxwell which he gets called occasionally. Our surname starts with a K and ends with by. As I have 3 very close friends with the same name as me want to avoid having such a popular name for my child (I know Max isn't exactly rare, but we were unprepared somehow! ). But I also don't want anything too trendy, of the moment, which I suspect some of these might be.

For a girl I like
Lola
Honor
Nova
Briar
Eden
Esra
Vida

And for a boy I like
Hugo
Finn (Finley?)
Theo
Sebastian
Leo

What do you think?

If the baby is a girl I think you should call her Ruby Grin

ArsenicFaceCream · 04/10/2014 13:53

Honor, Briar, Eden and Finn are lovely.

I prefer Hugh to Hugo, personally.

Lara and Guy also sound like the siblings of a Max to me Smile

goshhhhhh · 04/10/2014 13:54

I don't really like any of the girl's names apart from Honor. All of the boy's names are ok.

Bluestocking · 04/10/2014 13:54

Definitely Ruby.

tryingtocatchthewind · 04/10/2014 13:55

The only one I would avoid due to popularity is Finlay/finley I know loads. You might want to keep your ears open for how many Leos and theos there are as they are gaining. I think your girls names are ok.

minkah · 04/10/2014 13:55

Eden is a fab name.

So is Finn.

BikeRunSki · 04/10/2014 13:58

Lola is popular though.

I was going to suggest Finn.

Murphy29 · 04/10/2014 13:58

Definitely Finn for a boy. That's what we are planning for our baby and Max was a favourite until we realised it would be very unfortunate with our surname!

MairzyDoats · 04/10/2014 14:00

Rosa sounds like sister to Max. To me, anyway. Although I do think Eden is lovely.

BlinkingHeck · 04/10/2014 14:03

My eldest is called Max (just Max)
When expecting DC2 we had chosen Rose or George.

PillForgettingIdiot · 04/10/2014 14:03

Briar is so beautiful.

florascotia · 05/10/2014 19:01

I like Honor and Vida best out of your girl's names. I know that Esra is sometimes used as a version of the Arabic female name Asra, but do you think that it might get confused with the much more widely-known Ezra which is a boy's name? (It's the name of a Hebrew prophet, and also well-known in the USA. And there's the famous US poet, Ezra Pound.)

As earlier posters have said, Finlay/Finely is very popular.

Dumbledoresgirl · 05/10/2014 19:04

I know 2 Maxes. One has a brother called Sam, and the other a brother called Sebastian (Sebby).

I think any of your boy choices would go well. I don't really like any of your girl choices which I know is not important but it does mean I can't really say whether they go with Max or not.

scarletforya · 05/10/2014 19:07

Briar is beautiful.

The boys names are ok except for Hugo and Sebastian which are a little bit stuffy!

AryaOfHouseSnark · 05/10/2014 19:08

I know a Max and Daisy and a Max and Leo.
It's a lovely name and was on our list for the Dts. We didn't use it in the end though because my sil pipped us to it.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 05/10/2014 19:09

Oh and I like Leo and Eden most off your list.

BlueStarsAtNight · 05/10/2014 19:32

I like Leo, Sebastian and Hugo from your boys list. I'm not keen on your girls list, but Eden is ok.
