Can't find a name for boy!

Help, DS2 is due right around the corner, we can't find a name for him and it's stressing me out! (I really don't want to wait till he's born, I want something before that)

DH is being less than helpful and will only say that he's not the difficult one, so he'll basically agree to anything, but won't come up with suggestions. There are some names that are "meh, ok", but nothing I love.

So, I need some brainstorming help, please!

Criteria:

  • DS1 is Patrick, so has to fit with that and preferably something that doesn't start with P
  • He'll have two long last names, so one or two syllables
  • Nothing super popular that there are likely to be many of in his class, nor totally unique, creative spellings of "normal" names, or very biblical (like joseph, noah, david, ...).
  • Currently on the maybe list: Felix, Kevin, Martin

Any ideas?

Ryan?

Lawrence

I have two DDs and if I unlikely have DC3 and it's a boy, he'll be Lawrence.

Love it - old fashioned but I feel new

My 6 yo is called Hugh. Never met another child called Hugh, and it's a real name, and goes with our silly long surname! Not sure anyone else would like it though....

Delphiniumsblue · 03/10/2014 22:32

I know two boys called Hugh and one Hugo.

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/10/2014 22:33

There's a toddler called Hugh living in my road.

CantSleepWontSleep · 03/10/2014 22:36

Oh yes Hugo is lovely. Or Barney.
Is Julian too long for you?

What about Ellis?

My biggest issue with Kevin is that book/movie.. I think I'll get over the association once it's our Kevin, but it's still a little creepy.

I'm not sure what my problem with Martin or Felix is, I can't think of any arguments against them, but I just don't love them iykwim.

Robin I really like. Julian too, but I think it's too long unfortunately :/

Kevin to me unfortunately conjures up images of either Kevin Keegan or Harry Enfield's Kevin & Perry.

Reuben is nice.
Lawrence/Laurence good too but there's the spelling quandary.
Douglas (Doug)?
Nathan?
