Which name should we use?!! I can't decide. Think we've got it down to Annabelle, Matilda, Rebecca or Violet. Any opinions? Our boy has a very mainstream name.

Annabelle - pretty but a bit too girly for me
Matilda - quite popular at the moment. Lots of Tilly's around.
Rebecca - My favourite on your list, although not keen on Becky as a nn.
Violet - quite like it but I think it is having a bit of a surge in popularity at the moment. It feel it's a bit 'Downton' to me.

Matilda or Rebecca.

Annabelle - ok, too similar to all the Isabelle's/Isabella's.
Matilda - strongly dislike. Too doll-like and too many Tilly's/Millys.
Rebecca - prefer this but would stick to full name.
Violet - increasingly popular. Not over keen.

Of the 4 I prefer Violet.

I like Annabel (spelt this way) best. Matilda is ok, but quite "of the moment" as is Violet. Rebecca is a bit dated but nice. DS has one in his class (5 years old).

Maybe Annabelle is not so good if people think of it as super girly. She is more likely to be sporty than super girly if we are anything to go by. How about Imogen. Do you think of Rebecca as very 1970/80 or has it stood the test of time?

I like Rebecca best on your list. Really don't understand the love for Violet as I just think it looks and sounds so similar to Violent!

Gemerama82 · 01/10/2014 15:58

Imogen is lovely too

Lunastarfish · 01/10/2014 16:08

Violet

Rebecca is my favourite too.
