This has been bugging me for a while.

The cbeebies show Woolly and Tig - does anyone know what Tig might be short for? It just sounds far more like a nickname than a formal birth certificate name to me.

I'm not asking about Woolly because Woolly is a spider rather than a child.

I like to think I'm a champion at woolly and tig trivia, I don't think she has a full name. her real name is Betsy.

My Dd is called Tegan, but we call her Tiggy or tigs.

How would you get Tig from Margaret?

I know an Elizabeth known as Tiggy. No idea why!
