What do we think?

Bearing in mind we have a DS James and we aren't at all 'well to do' (it sounds quite "posh" to me)

It's the only name OH has suggested that hasn't made me want to beat him to death.

I like it. It also goes well alongside James.

Gemerama82 · 29/09/2014 17:45

Makes me think of beetroot. Random.

vestandknickers · 29/09/2014 17:48

Beautiful name.

harryhausen · 29/09/2014 17:57

My friend has an 8yr old Beatrice. I love the name. They call her Bea. It suits her. She's cool.

dannydyerismydad · 29/09/2014 17:58

I love it. DS would have been a Beaif he'd been a girl. Am a bit jealous that you get to use it.

daisydee43 · 29/09/2014 18:05

you can spell it beatrix as to not be too posh

nailslikeknives · 29/09/2014 18:06

Love it. Beautiful name with lots of interesting connections.

Montsti · 29/09/2014 20:46

Love it especially nn.Bea.

indigo18 · 29/09/2014 21:16

It's horrible.

Teapot13 · 30/09/2014 04:16

I like it -- It was almost DD2's name.

stripedtortoise · 30/09/2014 05:47

Beatrice is lovely!
Beatrix is not a different spelling, it's a different name with the sounding 'tricks' at the end rather than 'trise'

JugglingChaotically · 30/09/2014 06:25

Lovely name!

daisydee43 · 30/09/2014 06:54

oh i know its not diff spelling but variation

Annietheacrobat · 30/09/2014 07:59

Fab name. I have one .

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 30/09/2014 08:24

I'm having a Beatrice on Thursday unless she turns up earlier! She was almost a Beatrix. I'm still undecided on that front TBH

eurochick · 30/09/2014 08:29

I love it. We used it as a middle name but it was almost her first name.

Mammanat222 · 30/09/2014 09:04

Pretty unanimous then? Yay!

And she will def be a Beatrice (not a trix)

This is going to the top of the list.

Out of interest our other names are Isabelle [way too popular but such a pretty name] and Elizabeth.

Beatrice just seems a nicer fit - classic but not too popular?

I am excited about this name.

Love it!

flipflopsonfifthavenue · 30/09/2014 15:14

love it.
only reason its not on short list for DC2 is that DP is Canadian and pronounces it "bee-trice"......

Marcipex · 30/09/2014 16:08

I love it and know one called Trixie.

AdorableAbbie · 30/09/2014 16:58

Nice name.., you can call her bea.

TheOldestCat · 30/09/2014 16:59

Love it. Also love Elizabeth - DS would have been Beth.

BeyondRepair · 30/09/2014 19:16

I prefer Elizabeth actually its a fab name and its not so popular these days....

However both names sound posh, what about something more...common? Like I dont know...
