What is the origin of Athelia? Reminds me of Ophelia as in Ophelia tits nonsense.
Sofia is quite nice but popular.
Why not Rose as a first name.

RRRJ83 · 23/09/2014 10:46

Love Athelia!

BlueChampagne · 23/09/2014 14:09

Alethia/Alethea is Greek for truth

VainVulva · 23/09/2014 14:09

Athelia sounds made up, I not like it. Sofia s fine but a bit boring and overdone.

squeak2392 · 23/09/2014 14:45

Athelia does sound made up, but I like it. Might be confused for Ophelia in spoken communication though.

Prefer Athelia Rose to Sofia Rose, although I like Sofia.

hatsybatsy · 23/09/2014 14:49

Prefer Sofia. have never heard of Athelia - suspect it would open the child up to a lifetime of wrong spellings and having to repeat her name.

Athena? Alicia? Althea?

RabbitSaysWoof · 23/09/2014 14:53

Love Sofia
Also suggest Acacia for Greek connections.

MollyBdenum · 23/09/2014 15:03

Do you mean Alethia? Athelia is a medical condition where someone is born without nipples, and I haven't encountered it as a name before.

I like both Sofia and Alethia, though.

cherrybombxo · 23/09/2014 15:09

Hahahaha Grin

I like Sofia, but prefer it spelled properly. Sophia would be on my shortlist.

ChickenFajitaAndNachos · 23/09/2014 15:13

I don't like the nipple one and Sofia just reminds me of a dodgy holiday I had in Bulgaria.

moxon · 23/09/2014 15:23

Lol cherry and chicken...

moxon · 23/09/2014 15:28

Sorry, and molly for enlightenment.

moxon · 23/09/2014 15:46

BTW I've always loved Althea. And Althea Rose sounds good.

cherrybombxo · 24/09/2014 16:50

ChickenFajitaAndNachos I also had a dodgy holiday in Bulgaria

pilates · 24/09/2014 22:31

Sofia but prefer Sophia.

sticklebrickstickle · 24/09/2014 22:39

Definitely not Athelia!

Alby16 · 25/09/2014 14:47

What about a hyphen. Sophia-Rose is just beautiful IMO. Have to agree with others though no 'f' in Sofia the 'ph' is so much more elegant xx

MerryMarigold · 25/09/2014 14:51

Oh my goodness. The nipple thing is TRUE! I thought it was a fantastic, sarky comment.

Sofia Rose is nice.

We were going to have Madeleine Rose, but ds was a boy.

ChickenFajitaAndNachos · 25/09/2014 15:01

I was going to have Lily, Grace and Katie but had three boys!!!

Allalonenow · 25/09/2014 15:08

Not sure about the Greek for truth, but in a similar style, what about Felicity Rose? Has a nice balance to it I think.

nooka · 26/09/2014 03:23

I really like Alethea, pronounced with a strong theee-a sound (like fear), not like Alicia with a lisp :) I'm not sure how I'd approach Athelia, maybe as a misspelled Othelia?
