It's an amazing name. I have one! He's almost two and hasn't been given any nicknames or abbreviations by anyone yet (other than silly ones by me, DH & DS1!).
A couple of times people have said "hmmm, that's unusual isn't it" which I'm pretty sure means 'I don't like it', but mostly people say "that is SUCH a lovely name! Where does it come from ..." which I think genuinely means they like it & want to know where it comes from!
