We gave been told this baby is a boy, and its took an age to decide on a name. Now we are in the final furlong and im just wondering whether i should have a girls name on standby Grin

What did you do?

I did. Which was wise as DD wasn't the boy the sonographer said she was.

We did what looked like an obvious set of testicles Grin but it could just have been swollen girly bits. Eeeek.....

We have been told it's a girl but I can't quite believe it (despite being told on three different occasions!) and so we have a boy's name lined up. Have also kept all my little boy clothes but will give the uber-blue stuff to charity if she pops out a girl after all :)

It's always best to be prepared, especially with all the stories you hear about sonographers getting it wrong. I wouldn't let it stress you out though. So long as you have some idea of a name you'd be happy with, then you can just work it out when she's here, if it turns out to be a she.

We had a boys name for DD2, and one for DS who was supposed to be a girl. DS didn't suit the name though so remained 'baby' for a week while we chose another!

We didn't even have a boy's name sorted for DS, and we knew he was going to be a boy! You do have several weeks after the birth to decide on a name, so it depends if you want to spend ages deciding on a 'just in case' girl's name - some people like looking through names, some find it stressful. Apparently it is more common to mistake boy fetuses for girls than the other way around, although it does happen - as pp said!

We didn't but I'm sure we'd have thought of something! We had a few names of the opposite gender we liked so it would have been a matter of picking one. I was so sure this one would be a boy but the sonographer thought girl - we'll see!
