Eden?

Hi,

So we've cut our list down to:

Melody/Elodie
Daphne

Or (new favourite with 4 weeks to go) Eden.

Do you like it or think it's awful? Will go with mn Violent or Ruby (family names) and 3 syllable 'S' surname.

I love it. It's by far my favourite on your list. Yes I think it meets all the requirements

AuntieStella · 15/09/2014 22:51

Eden is a traditional boys name and still used for boys, and is much more masculine than your other choices.

I think Elodie is lovely.

Only1scoop · 15/09/2014 22:52

Violent Blush

beatofthedrum · 15/09/2014 22:52

I really like Eden but would be wary of Violent as a nnGrin

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 15/09/2014 22:54

Melodie Violet. Not feeling it sorry. Not flowing, and Melodie Ruby is a big no no, names are not meant to end it the same sound of letter
Same with Elodie Violet. No to Elodie Ruby for the same reason as above. Although Elodie Violet is quite nice.
Daphine Ruby No, sorry. Daphine Violet I quite like
Eden Ruby is nice as is Eden Violet. However I also like Violet Eden.

CocktailQueen · 15/09/2014 22:56

Lol at Eden violent! Love Eden. How about Eden with a single syllable middle name - eg Eden Rose?

Ludways · 15/09/2014 23:02

We have a boy Eden in the family, wouldn't use it for a girl.

usualsuspect333 · 15/09/2014 23:05

I think Eden can be used for a boy or a girl. I know a girl called Eden. I really like it.

BornOfFrustration · 15/09/2014 23:07

I like it.

I can be for both boys and girls, but I associate it with a boy remembers Ibiza 1997

Mamami · 15/09/2014 23:08

Hehe 'Violent' is obvs 'Violet' very chubby fingers at this point! Thanks for all your feedback.

Have never really thought of Eden as a boys name.

I like Daphne.

Think of Eden as a boys name.

NadiaWadia · 16/09/2014 02:46

Sounds very girly to me.

mathanxiety · 16/09/2014 03:07

I like Eden and Daphne a lot. I have only known Eden as a girls' name. I'm not too keen on Melodie, and when I hear the name Elodie, it sounds to me as if it's a sawn off version of Melodie...

I think Eden and Daphne both go well with Violet, but not so well with Ruby.

Otoh, having three names would make Ruby easier to use -- as a pp suggested Rose, how about Eden Ruby Rose, or Daphne Ruby Rose

TheFilthiestPersonAlive · 16/09/2014 03:21

Eden is gorgeous. One of my favourite names (for a girl OR a boy)

Coughle · 16/09/2014 03:35

Eden would be my pick.

Mamami · 16/09/2014 08:43

More support than I thought. This has really helped make my mind up - thanks.

I like Eden but it's a boys name in my mind.

Only1scoop · 16/09/2014 08:53

I know 2 both boys.

bruffin · 16/09/2014 09:09

NO dont like eden at all very pageant girl

Ludways · 16/09/2014 12:35

I love Daphne, reminds me of a very beautiful old friend of mine.

AnathemaIsANiceNameForAGirl · 16/09/2014 13:58

I have an Eden (she is 9 now). It was the only name we had for her. Never regretted it, it suits her down to the ground and she is forever getting complimented on it Smile

I first heard of it when I saw the TV adaptation of A Dark Adapted Eye as a teenager, it's a Ruth Rendell story in which Eden is a v glamorous woman. So for that reason I can never really wrap my head around it as a boys' name (though I know of course that it is).

I think for me it has connotations of beauty, intelligence and old-style glamour, with a hint of mystery and a dash of new-agey hippydom Grin so yes I love it!

I like Elodie, not keen on Melody. Daphne was my wish-I-was-called-that favourite name as a little girl. Think it's quite retro, cute and pretty. I'm in the middle of a Frasier marathon at the moment so that is the biggest Daphne connotation for me at the moment!

cherrybombxo · 16/09/2014 14:07

I knew an Eden May, which is nice. I don't think Eden goes with your middle names though, sorry. I love Elodie Violet.

Sophronia · 16/09/2014 22:44

I don't like it, it's too religious for me with the Garden of Eden connotations.

Frikadellen · 17/09/2014 18:25

I think its gorgeous. Just make sure you dont live near the River Eden where lots of stuff will be named after it.

It was a strong contender for dd3 (and I don't usually like unisex names)
I think it is gorgeous
