Samuel or Joseph

Which do you prefer?

I love them both. Not very helpful, sorry!

Though DD1 would have been Joseph, but DH had vetoed Samuel so was never allowed to be in the running..

Bowlersarm no! that's my dilemma! I like both Sam and Joe. If pushed, Joe just edges it... I think...

I liked Samuel for ds2 but was put off by fact that Samuels are only ever 'Sam' (not that I don't like Sam, I just like the full name best). I would have thought it more likely that a Joseph will actually be called that at least some of the time.

So I'd go for Joseph :)

I've got a lovely nephew called Joseph, so a bit biased but on the whole I think I would like it more anyway. From my experience, Joseph is less common.

We have just made the exact same decision! We chose Samuel but it was close. Obviously, I think they're both lovely names.
