I like Florian as a boys name, but I also think it sounds nice on a girl. As far as I'm aware though, it's strictly a boys name :/

The female form is Floriane, which I wouldn't mind, except it looks like it should be pn more like florri-anne, which I'm not so sure I like.

Basically, does anyone though the correct pn of Floriane?
Is it acceptable to use Florian as a girls name?

Tbh i've not heard of this name but i would pronounce
Florian.... Florry ann
And
Floriane... Florry ayn

How about using flora or just florry/florie.

There are so many names used for both genders there days that if u like florian for a girl.. Why not.

The name u like for my next (ttc) dd is hated on mn and only 3 on the ons list.

I really like Florian for a boy.

I'd pronounce Floriane 'florry-ahn' (Florianne would be 'florry-ann')

How about Floriana?

Sounds like a toilet cleaner you'd find in Lidl. Sorry...

Alleycat Haha, that made me laugh :P

I actually am in love with just Flora right now, so this is just hypothetical, but I do like the name :)

I agree with Sophronia; and, since the name is French, the 'i' in the middle would be a bit lighter and brighter that an English 'y', IYSWIM.
Flore-ee-ahn

Though Flora by itself is a lovely name, of course Wink

Florian is a very popular boys' name in Germany.

For a girl, I would use Flora or Floriana. Or Florence.

The singer Dido's real first name is Florian.
