Lillian Faith

My husband and I love the name Lillian ("Lily") and have chosen it as the first name of our daughter, who is coming in November. The only problem is that we have found that pairing the perfect middle name that goes with Lillian is not as easy as we hoped.

I read articles on choosing names, and it mentioned that using varying syllables helps with the flow of a name. For instance, our last name is Garfield, so our daughters name would be Lillian Faith Garfield (3-1-2 in the syllable count).

We are both overly critical, though, since this is our first time naming, and we want it to be perfect for our little lady on the way. I wanted to get some outside advice and opinion about the flow of the name to help us know if it is a good option or not. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!!

I love it, think it flows really well.

I also have a Lily (named as such on BC but named after a Lillian) and have another DD with the middle name Faith - you have excellent taste!

Beautiful name Smile I always thought that short for Lillian it would be spelled Lilly, rather than spelled like the flower though?

It's lovely, the names work really well together. Lillian Joanne is on our list for DC1 also due in Nov, I think Faith works perfectly with Lillian!

Be aware Lillian/lily is very very popular. It's like being called sarah or Claire in our generation. When I had my first I nearly called her Olivia then realised how popular it was and chose something else. So glad I did...

It has lost its specialness through over use. Sorry. I have 2 little girls in primary school and most of their friends are called lily or eve I kid you not!

I thought of the phrase 'little faith' ie
Oh you of little faith....

But i think Lilian is lovely.
