Struggling to find a name that feels right. Love DD1's name so feel like we should love this one too...

Petra
Anya
Etta

Thoughts please :)

Etta, for Etta James!

EttA is lovely

PickledSprout · 31/08/2014 22:39

Love Petra and Anya. Less keen on Etta, but not sure why.

Have you considered Greta?

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 31/08/2014 23:13

Petra. Definitely

ralinax294 · 31/08/2014 23:26

Love Anya, Petra is okay, don't really like Etta.

manicinsomniac · 01/09/2014 09:09

Love Anya and Etta. Not so keen on Petra.

Are you Russia/East European? How about Mila?

Or, similar to your choices:

Aria, Ayla, Aya, Ava, Ada, Asha, Asia, Amy, Anna, Annie, Amna, Alba, Aphra, Enya, Effie, Erin, Esher, Emma, Eva, Efa, Ella, Pippa, Posy, Priya

Like all three, loved the name Anya for years, but of the three I like the look of Etta for originality.

TempsPerdu · 01/09/2014 14:33

Anya would be my pick. It's pretty, and familiar but not overused. Etta is nice, but makes me think of ETA (I did a Spanish degree, though, so might just be me!) and I don't like Petra - sounds harsh to me.

PickledSprout · 01/09/2014 20:16

Thanks everyone.

No not Russian/eastern European. Just seem to be drawn to these kinds of names! DD1 is Nina.

I like them all, probably in this order:
Etta
Anya
Petra.

Orangeisthenewbanana · 01/09/2014 20:22

Anya is my favourite off your list.

What about Talia, Jana, Julia, Freya (might be too popular?), Maya?

MerryMarigold · 01/09/2014 20:26

Cleo

Verity

onepotatotwopotato · 01/09/2014 20:29

Love Nina, OP

What about Vita?

PickledSprout · 01/09/2014 20:37

Pondered Maya a few weeks ago but DH not keen.

Like Vita but DH just raised an eyebrow. Turns out he is harder to please than I am!

Sme lovely suggestions but most we can't use due to already knowing someone with that name or similar.

Freya was the name I decided to call my daughter when I was 10! Unfortunately it's a bit too popular now I think.

How about:
Lydia
Leah
Zoe
Tess or Tessa
Lara
Laura
Daphne
Chloe
Clara
Hazel
Edith
Iris

mathanxiety · 02/09/2014 02:58

And Juliet

MerryMarigold · 02/09/2014 11:59

I don't know, but I find Petra a bit doggy.

Layla

Annika

Lara

Guin1 · 02/09/2014 16:39

All three are good, strong names, easy to pronounce and spell. And they all go well with Nina. Three great choices, whichever you choose!

MummyBeerest · 02/09/2014 16:44

Etta is great

squeak2392 · 08/09/2014 02:25

None of them are my sort of names, as such, but I think I prefer Anya. I like Petra but it seems a bit clunky.

Etta looks pretty, but I can't help thinking it's just the end of some other name... Julietta, Henrietta, Rosetta.

PickledSprout · 08/09/2014 09:58

I worry that Petra would be shortened to Pet. Not keen on that. We live up North so is quite a popular "pet" name.
