My best friend from school gave birth to her #3 and #4 children. She was pretty shocked when she found out she was having twin girls. The only problem is, she has a difficulty with naming. This has always been the case. She likes different and unique names she asked if I could help. I said I'd give her a list by tomorrow. This is my list so far;

Octavia
Arielle
Imara
Arabella
Taluhah
Sienna
Anaïs

Middle names will be Venetia and Madaleine (Her mother and her MIL's names) and she already has two daughters called Seren and Ottilie.

Please tell me which names are your favourites and suggest anymore names.

I like Arielle and would suggest

Romilly
Esther
Verity
Louisa
Lorelei

bouncingbelle · 24/08/2014 23:26

Oops, missed the 'different and unique' criteria!

Melodie?
Cassia?

aubreye · 24/08/2014 23:27

Thank you for replying so quickly. I love Verity and Esther. (DD1's middle name is Verity but I'm sure it doesn't make a difference)

Amalia

Sapphire
Rosalie

I'd say 'no' to Sienna (too much like Seren).

I think if you have two 'somewhat out there' names, you can't then revert to 'ordinary names' - so for me that would rule out Esther, Verity & Louisa.

Out of your list, if I had to choose, I'd choose Arabella & Octavia - but only if I was forced - neither are names I'd actively choose.

I can't think of anything to add as they aren't the sort of names I'd choose...

Aurora
Ophelia sprung to mind (although not sure about having another name beginning with O incl Octavia, and agree Seren and Sienna too similar)

MidnightDinosaur · 25/08/2014 00:42

I like Octavia.

Aviana
Minerva
Athena
Cassia

Are all names I've seen/heard recently which are a bit different.

MsCoconut · 25/08/2014 08:18

I'm liking names Arielle, Arabella and other names beginning with "a" at the moment.

Asha
Amara
Adele
Augusta

Or

Juliana
Lucille

Thanks everybody. ralinax294 Unfortunately my daughter is called Rosalie and my friend wanted something she didn't know anyone by so I love Aliana.

LatteLover you're right that was a bit silly of me. Seren and Sienna don't go well.

temporary I like Aurora but I love Ophelia.

Midnight Octavia was actually one of my favourites too. Aviana is quite nice and I really like Athena but Minerva just reminds me if Minerva Mcgonagall from Harry Potter.

MsCoconut Love Lucille and Amara.

Etta
Elodie
Romy
Arianwen ( ah-ree-ANN-wen)
Lowri

Congratulations to your friend, but I don't think 'Aviana' would be doing a baby any favours:

  1. It's recently been invented by a celeb (Amy Adams)
  2. 'Avian' means 'connected with birds' - eg avian flu = bird flu. Sorry, but it makes me think of aviaries.

Juliana is nice; if you are liking 'A' names, what about: Adelaide, Artemisia, Azaria(h), Adriana, Anastasia, Agnetha, Alicia, Alessia, Alienor, Allegra, Amabel, Amandine

aubreye · 25/08/2014 22:21

flora I showed my dear friend this and she loved Anastasia. So that's baby #3 named, Anastasia Madeleine. Baby #4 is going to be called Octavia Venetia. Thanks everyone, I'm very grateful as is my friend and her family.

Wow! Thanks for letting us all know. I think the four names go very well together.

burgatroyd · 26/08/2014 09:21
