This is the only name is really love, and it would work for either sex (finding out at 20 week scan in a couple of weeks) but it's an immediate family member's name so not sure if it would feel right using it.
I'd probably use it on its own, ie, not as a shortened version of a longer name, though I'm not averse to longer names. Are there any names that are like Alex? I like the fact that it is simple yet strong. Not keen on overly frilly names. Can stomach Alexandria, Alexa, Alexei (sex-dependent, of course). I also like the use of the letter 'x' although can't think of any other names I like that use it (don't like Dexter).
Any suggestions for names of either sex similar to Alex?!
