Hello,
I know there are already a few posts out there on Clementine. DD2 will be here in a few days and it has been our top choice for a while. Is it quite an 'out there' name and do people more often than not just associate it with the fruit? I've loved it right through the pregnancy but now having a wobble! Many thanks.

I think it's lovely particularly the nn Clemmie

Nocturne123 · 22/08/2014 22:05

Love it ! I knew a french girl called clementine and thought it was so pretty :)

TeenageMutantNinjaTurtle · 22/08/2014 22:05

I love it. But I couldn't persuade dh. The only slight concern I had was over the pronunciation. Clemen-Tyne or Clemen-Teen.

Winston Churchill's wife was Clementine. Great name!

DramaAlpaca · 22/08/2014 22:05

Love it! I would never have been allowed to use it, though (although it didn't arise as I had all boys). I adore Clem & Clemmie as nns.

Bluestocking · 22/08/2014 22:07

I love it! I also love Clemency and the French version Clémence.

LemonBreeland · 22/08/2014 22:07

I adore it and wanted it for DD but dh was totally against it.

Rox19 · 22/08/2014 23:12

Love it heard it a few times in playgrounds recently (n London)

itfcbabe · 22/08/2014 23:29

Love it and really want to use it but don't like Clemmy

Mutteroo · 23/08/2014 09:26

I also love the nn Clemmie & prefer it to the full name of Clementine. This name doesn't go with our surname & so it was never an option for us. Instead it's my imaginary baby girl name!

twinjocks · 23/08/2014 15:27

Love it, especially with Clemmie for short.

Sleepyhoglet · 23/08/2014 15:55

It's so lovely. On my final 4 list but I'm just not quite confident enough or sure. Also I see it as a blonde name and my daughter will most likely be dark haired and pale skinned!

Perpelxedandoverwhelmed · 23/08/2014 18:13

Hello,

Our 7 year old daughter is a Clementine. We've opted for the 'tine' pronunciation as opposed to the 'teen' although she tends to get called both by strangers.

We've only really had positive comments regarding her name. Perhaps a couple of orange related comments, but if that's the worst you can say about a name I think that's not too bad.

Sundaedelight · 23/08/2014 18:52

Sleepyhoglet I know a dark haired Clementine! Totally suits her!

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 23/08/2014 18:56

Really really dislike it.

wishingforwillpower · 23/08/2014 18:59

Really lovely name, and love clemmir too.

wishingforwillpower · 23/08/2014 18:59

*clemmie

123rd · 23/08/2014 19:00

Really love it. The "tine" version. Does it suit the surname?

Shannith · 23/08/2014 19:07

I have one. Love the name, but people do assume it's tyne.

To us she is mostly known as menace or the beast.

I expect she will gave issues, either way. :)
