Violet. Does anyone think of...

I like Violet. Without even having to mention it to her I know my mum would instantly say something about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Just William ("I'll scream and scream until I'm sick!"). Does anyone else instantly think of this? And is it even a bad thing? I have a sneaky suspiscion that my mum will criticise any name I mention - which is why I refuse to discuss it with her!

Violet is sweet and it's granny chic. My nan had a neighbour called Vi.

I think of Violette Szabo.

I love Violet (even though I instantly think Roald Dahl, The Incredibles or do that Disney Programne ANT FARM there was a girl on there called Violet.) I would have chosen it but it is my niece's name.

My first thought is the word violence unfortunately. I'm sure I'm odd in that.

Violet is good. Don't use Viola as it means violate in Spanish

I sort of want to love the name Violet...it's so pretty, in lots of ways.

BUT - I always think of 'violent' too, so could never use it.

And it looks as if there are a few of us. Sad

Love it

Topsyloulou · 25/08/2014 07:22

I love the name violet. It was near the top of our list before we found out we're having a boy. Would definitely be up for consideration if we do ever have a girl.

I think of Violet Beauregard I'm afraid. And then of the word 'violent'.
