I know this is a major marmite name. I'm sure the major reservation for people who don't like it will be its nearness to lunatic, which doesn't really bother me, there is always something children could be teased about.

I was reading through the stats yesterday and Luna just really jumped out at me. I think it is simple, not too flowery yet has a little bit of a quirky feel to it. I also adore the moon associations.

What I am interested to know is, do you think the name "goes" with Eli (our ds name)???? I know in terms of origins one is Hebrew and one is Latin but I still think they sound well together, I would just like to hear some opinions! Smile

I think they sound good together

I like Luna

It does make me think of the m&p pram though

Wow that was a bit of an essay! Blush I'm just excited that we may have found our girl name.

Yes, it's a great name, not that I am biased! Grin

Perfect with Eli and I ABSOLUTELY ADORE LUNA! my niece were to be called this but he was a boy, how rude!

Luna is great, I have an Astrid in my arms and I love the celestial feel to both of these names x

SandorClegane · 16/08/2014 19:13

Makes me think of Luna lovegood in Harry Potter, nickname 'loony lovegood'...
It's nice though but it does make me imagine someone a bit flakey.

DitzyDonkey · 16/08/2014 19:35

funny I love Astrid, that is also on my list. Though I think we have our name with Luna, though if we have another and it turned out to be a dd then Astrid would make a perfect sister to Luna!!!

I agree! If there's a hidden twin you know what to call her! We all our Astrid "Asti" most of the time, like Luna it's a marmite name but we love it so much! Congrats on little Luna! X

delgirl · 16/08/2014 20:32

lovely name

NormanTheForeman · 16/08/2014 20:35

Stella would also go well with Luna. I know a Luna (aged about 7).

DitzyDonkey · 17/08/2014 13:06

We are thinking Luna Brigitte!

DramaAlpaca · 17/08/2014 20:39

Luna is lovely and goes great with Eli.

I think I'm right in remembering that you're in Ireland, Ditzy? It would be very unusual here, and it's got the cool, quirky vibe that I get the impression you are going for Smile

frames · 17/08/2014 20:41

No. Think this is weird. OK for a car.

Iseechickens · 17/08/2014 20:42

Love the name, same name as one of our hens. Grin

DitzyDonkey · 17/08/2014 21:18
