We like the name Leo for a boy but is it weird to call him this if he is likely to be a Leo star sign as well? Thanks all.

I don't think it is a problem (most people wont make the connection anyway).

Acolyte · 12/08/2014 22:19

No.

Some people don't even think about star signs. I couldn't tell you what star sign my dd's are.

Love Leo. One of my faves for a boy.

Bowlersarm · 12/08/2014 22:20

I know very little about star signs. Not a problem as far as I would be concerned.

We also like Jasper and Reece - what are thoughts on those?

Leo, Jasper and Reece are all lovely!
and with the star sign thing i don't think that's strange - even more reason to call him that!

Were you planning on having just Leo? Or is that a nickname? Either way it is nice! I was just thinking if you had that worry - naming him Leon or Leonardo and calling him Leo for short might rest your mind. :)

Hope this helps!

Who on earth will know his star sign. I barely know my own! Leo is love it, I really wanted it for DS but didn't work for us.

It's irrelevant to most people.

And I suppose if you are into that mumbo jumbo you'd think it was a good match. Like calling May-borns May.

Anyway, forget all that - I like Leo a lot!

Kantha · 18/08/2014 08:48

Not weird on the horoscope thing. Some people who are into that stuff would think it was especially apt.

Leo is a much nicer name than Reece or Jasper. There are quite a few Jasper's where I live. I only know one Leo. I can only think of one Reece and that was from my childhood. He used to get called Greasy Reecy Hmm

Showy · 18/08/2014 08:58

I don't know my own dc's star signs. I never even think about it. I don't think of star signs when I hear Leo. It is a perfectly nice name. As is Jasper. They are v similar in feel iyswim. Reece seems a bit left of field given your other two options. I much, much prefer Rhys as a spelling but the other two options are preferable imo.
