Playing the name game

My boyfriend and I made lists of names we liked over the last 5 weeks since finding out we were having a boy. We each had notepads and collaborated them this evening. We have narrowed it down to ten names and I wanted some opinions on them, just so I know if they're too out there.

1. Monty William
2. Jude William
3. Humphrey William
4. Huntly William
5. Enzo William
6. Sebastian William
7. Lucius William
8. Hugo William
9. Bodhi William

10. Valentino William

I like Jude William, Sebastian William and Hugo William.

Jude and Sebastian for me.

My favourite is Jude William.

Monty and Jude for me, lovely!

Sebastian or at a push Hugo or Monty. Not keen on the others.

Favourite out of those is Sebastian.

Least favourites are Humphrey and Bodhi.

I love monty, I've never heard of huntly before but it's really caught my eye, I like. Also Hugo is cool.

However I'm not keen on enzo -reminds me of the muppets.

I like Sebastian, Hugo and Lucius. Monty and Jude are ok. Not keen on the others.

I love Hugo. Also quite like Bodhi. Is it pronounced Bodie?

My autocorrect thinks it should be Bodhisattva which is quite fascinating. Is that what its short for?

Jude and Sebastian are the best I think.

Really not keen on Humphrey. Not at all sexy. Remember you are naming a person not just a baby. When Humphrey is all grown up he will in all likelihood want a relationship with a woman or man and no-one has ever said "Take me now Humphrey you sexy beast!" in a fit of passion Hth.

1. Monty - pervy uncle who wears smelly tweeds and brushes up against your bum.
2. Jude - LOVE
3. Humphrey - HELL NO. I mean really....................NO. And 'NO' once more.
4. Huntly - sounds quite awkward as a first name. Also, reminds me of Ian Huntley.
5. Enzo - not sure but could be persuaded
6. Sebastian - meh
7. Lucius - bit frilly
8. Hugo - chinless braying kind of name
9. Bodhi - surfer name

10. Valentino - kind of love it although might be hard for a non Italian child to pull off. Valentine might be easier.

Jude is great, I like Sebastian and Hugo too.

Sebastian! Love it! Quite like Hugo. Not Humphrey or Huntley. Quite like Hudson-though that isn't on your list (and I know it's a bit Upstairs Downstairs!!

You have very different taste in names to me. So here's my view for what it's worth.

1. Monty William - OK, would it be Montgomery on bc?
2. Jude William - Jude is a girls name to me, I really am not keen on it being used for boys
3. Humphrey William - not for me, quite old fashioned and not in a good way
4. Huntly William - potential for not very nice nn. Plus it sounds like the name of a cartoon character.
5. Enzo William - are you Italian?
6. Sebastian William - OK - one of the better ones on your list
7. Lucius William - no
8. Hugo William - like - think this is the best on your list
9. Bodhi William - looks Welsh? Are you?

10. Valentino William - Are you Italian? In not then no.

my partner is italian, that's why I like Valentino and Enzo.

Honestly, none of them-except William.

Knowing now that your partner is Italian, I do really like Valentino and Enzo.

In order I like:

1. Valentino.
2. Enzo.
3. Jude.
4. Hugo.
5. Sebastian.

I love love LOVE Valentino.

If your partner is Italian, really go for it, Italian names are so beautiful!

Okay seeing as your child will have Italian heritage I'd be tempted to go for Valentino.

Monty, Sebastian, Jude if you must, it's a bit trying to be fashionable.
