DD due in a week if I like Naomi and Farrah what other names might I like?
DH likes Rose and Ruby so i feel we are not really on the same wavelength, can anyone think of a compromise?
Thanks

OP - This is difficult. Your favourite names are so different. One is three thousand years old at least. It comes from the Old Testament and has a famous - and touching - story of female friendship and loyalty attached to it. The other comes from a 1970s TV series. It might be based (but spelled wrongly) on the Arabic word for joy, but was more likely made up by (loving) Texan parents: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farrah_Fawcett
So the two don't really share any connections.

If you like Biblical names then there are lots of really nice ones to choose from, see: www.behindthename.com/names/usage/biblical

When it comes to more recent, TV/Celebrity names, I think that other Mumsnetter will be more useful than I can be.

Re your DH's preferences, there are many very lovely flower names. And also many names - Emerald/Esmerelda, Sapphire/Safira, Pearl, Amber, Jade etc etc - all associated with jewels.

I would steer away from farrah due to back door teen mom connections

Love Naomi. Don't like Farrah.

Would you like Rose more if was a nickname for a longer name like Rosamund, Rosalie or Rosanna?

Can you compromise with popular biblical name like Eve or Leah? Or the suggestions above of Miriam (nn Miri or Mimi) or Ruth?

The only other names that I can think of with a sense of history but also current are Leila and Maya.

Ella-Rose

Rose is the best from that list. Farrah is awful, sorry. Maybe a longer version of Rose to give you options? Rosemary, Rosamund, Rosalind. Rose on its own is lovely.
