First names have more meaning but we try to give them individual middle names that we like except ds2 who has DH's full name.

DS1 is named after a book character. - My favourite book.
DD1 is named after my mum's middle name. - No longer with us :(
DS2 is named after DH. - An important meaning for DH's dad.
DS3 is named after DH's grandfather. - Very important man to DH & I :)
DD2 is named after our love of Greek Mythology. Explains itself.
DS4 is also named after our love of Greek Mythology. Same as above.

So yeah, we're not really all that original haha. Grin

DD's middle name is that of my best friend, who is like a sister to me. First name is just a name we both like.

Ds -
First name - a name I've always liked, then FiL discovered 8 generations of them prior to his own father whilst I was pg, so was a no brainer .
Middle name 1 - after my uncle who was having hormone treatment for prostrate cancer whilst I had hyperemisis. Same symptoms! He was expected not to survive - 6 years later he's still here.
Middle name 2 - after dFiL, who I am very fond of, and was so pleased at his first Yorkshire born grandchild.

DD -
First name - anagram of Mil's. Like being named after your grandma but with your own name. It is a proper name too though.
MN1 - my first name, also a traditional family name
MN2 - the lovely village and beautiful valley where DH and I first lived together. Again, it is a actually girls name in its one right.

Family. I grew up in care so don't have strong family ties and I really wanted that for my children so two of them have my grandparents as middle names and all of their names are related to someone in DH's family. I want them to have a familial connection that I didn't have.

mathanxiety · 07/08/2014 22:48

All family names.

Kittykatmacbill · 08/08/2014 17:21

Dd has a version of MiL middle name as her given name and dm given name as her middle name.

Which has slightly confused as am currently pg w dd2 and have run out of names!

AugustaGloop · 08/08/2014 17:23

Middle names are family names.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 08/08/2014 17:25

DDs first and middle names are both from.childrens literature. Her first name is the eldest March Sister as Little Women was my favourite book and her middle name is the girl who went to Wonderland Grin

Im pg with a boy this time, and cant find a literary name I love so he is getting a name with no real connection to anything. I have seen and bought lots of fox patterned stuff for him just as ive taken a fancy to it all, and will probably use Fox as a middle name, as it has been quite linked to this pregnancy.

Always liked Laura due to Little House on the Prairie. Only had boys.
