Which one is best....Ezekiel middle name?

We have decided on Ezekiel as the name for our baby due in few weeks. I posted here before about wanting a "hippyish" middle name.

Which one gets your vote? Which one is the worst in your opinion?

Ezekiel Bear

Ezekiel River

Ezekiel Blue

Ezekiel Heath

Obviously the names are unusual and not to everyone's taste so if you don't like any at all that's fine just don't be too nasty please!

I can't choose between that lot. There's another thread about "Fox" with the general consensus being that it's a fab middle name. Could be another to consider? Goes well I think?

HowAboutNo · 07/08/2014 05:31

Firstly, LOVE Ezekiel. It's my nephews name.

Ezekiel Heath is lovely and different.

plinth · 07/08/2014 05:33

Erm, Ezekiel Heath?

But really they're not to my taste....

shoopshoopsong · 07/08/2014 05:51

How do you pronounce Ezekiel?

plinth · 07/08/2014 06:05

Ee-zee-key-ell

Surfsup1 · 07/08/2014 06:38

Never heard it with a big E Plinth. I've generally heard it as e-ZEE-kee-el?

singaporeswing · 07/08/2014 06:49

Ezekiel Fox is awesome.

Out of your list, I prefer Heath. I think it works better with a one syllable.

My suggestion is Ezekiel Storm.

plinth · 07/08/2014 08:43

Sorry the big E was just my keyboard doing its own thing.

Your stress is in the place I would have stressed.

WowserBowser · 07/08/2014 15:50

In order

Blue
Heath
River
Bear

Have nothing against Bear but i think it goes with Ezekiel the least

Raines100 · 07/08/2014 15:51

Ezekiel Heath works, but I love Ezekiel Bear. My friend's little boy has a 'proper' first name but ended up being called Bear, and now we've all forgotten he has another name. Blue makes me think of Beyoncé's Blue Ivy.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/08/2014 16:20

Mmm - don't like any of the names, sorry - but if I had to choose would go with Ezekiel Heath.

secretsquirrels · 07/08/2014 16:26

My children are teens so I rarely stumble on baby names but I can't help commenting.

Oh no poor child!!
Have you no idea what torture he /she will go through at school? The child will hate his or her name forever and it will be all your fault that he /she is stuck with a millstone like Ezekiel Bear.

Sophronia · 07/08/2014 16:52

Ezekiel Heath

temporarilyjerry · 07/08/2014 17:37

Ezekiel Fox is awesome.

^This.

Please not Bear

jackydanny · 07/08/2014 17:58

i think Ezekiel stands alone.

adding detracts in this case imo.

sandberry · 07/08/2014 19:14

Ezekiel Blue flows best I think but has a slightly celeb sound to it

Pebbles0934 · 08/08/2014 02:49

Ha ha secretsquirrels! It's ok... I was expecting more reactions like yours and have had similar reactions from most family members. I appreciate it isn't to everyone's taste and it is my partners choice to be honest which has grown on me over the last 9 months. My other children have unusual names which people turned their nose up too at first but now are just used to them I guess!

Anyway! Thank you for the opinions... My partner and kids are trumping for Blue as a middle name which would be a reference to Joni Mitchell not Beyonce! Ha ha. However, I was unsure. I like River but not convinced it flows,,,, excuse the pun!

I'm not keen on Bear at all!

Love them all... But I always go for hippy names!

Ezekiel Blue is brilliant. Heath is also a great name and a bit less hippy.

These days it would be hard to chose a kid's name that was destined for mockery, it's much more usual to have unusual names Smile so I really wouldn't worry in that regard.

secretsquirrels · 08/08/2014 09:39

Pebbles0934 Sorry Op for my outburst. The thing is I guess you are very young, and I see this as an old fogey. I also agree that there is a preponderance of made up unusual names now.
As a parent of older teenagers my experience over the years is that children dislike very common names and very unusual names. No one wants to be the 4th Emily in the class but neither do they want a name which makes everyone's jaw drop. Some people take the view that it teaches them to not be a sheep. It's a tough lesson for a child.
A name should be something the owner of it is comfortable and happy with, not a constant challenge.

19 years ago when I was very hormonal choosing names for DS I was persuaded from calling him Red. He has thanked me for my restraint Grin.

Pebbles0934 · 08/08/2014 18:31

Ha ha I love Red!

I appreciate what you are saying and I draw the line at made up names! Ezekiel is actually quite common in America at number 186 I think?! It is also number 415 in uk which is more common than both my over children's names! Anyway... I'll let you know in 10-15 years time if it's a hit or not with my third born!

I have a very common 80's name and I hated it so much I wanted to change it when I was a teenager to Sky!

Ezekiel Blue is fab! I also like the suggestion of Fox by previous posters!

Gingerjv · 08/08/2014 20:47

I LOVE NAME Ezekiel!!! wonderful choice! but all of the middle names...oh my god..;-))) So my vote for Ezekiel Heath

Tweediestwo · 08/08/2014 21:39

Ezekiel fox is a fab suggestion! Is not then bear or blue :-)

GranitaMargarita · 10/08/2014 19:01

Ezekiel-Bear is adorable - that's such a sweet name for a little boy. You could call him Zekie-Bear for short?

And then, when he's older, I think it's a really strong manly name - if you imagine a bank manager or similar coming into a meeting and introducing himself as Ezekiel-Bear Jones (or whatever your surname is), then it's very strong and sexy. And he can stay as Zekie-bear to his mum and dad however old he is!

TheScenicRoute · 11/08/2014 12:23

Heath, as that can be both hippy and classy dependant on the child's personality
