Henry, Josiah, Elijah or Elisha?

We're struggling with boys names and this is our short list. Ideally we'd like a biblical name but I very much like Henry. Which do you think is the nicest?

Elijah

Josiah of the biblical names you suggest, but I like Henry best.

We're having a girl but for boys we loved biblical names (we love Zachary, Asher and Noah) as I think they are strong, confident names. On your list I like Elijah best as it can be shortened to Eli.

Have you tried reading the bible stories that include those names as maybe that might influence your choice?

Henry. I love it. And I love it shortened to Harry, too.

We're both Christians so are familiar with the bible!
It's just that lots of brilliant names really don't go with our surname which is one syllable. For example, I like Noah but it wouldn't work!

Elisha, I love this for a boy and definitely prefer it to Elijah. Otherwise I like Henry.

Josiah or elijah

Josiah, Joss for short. I like Elijah and Eli too.

Josiah makes me think American Deep South. Elisha, I know is a boys name, but with the popularity of Alicia and it's million mis-pronounced variants, I think it winks be a difficult name for your son to have.

I really like Elijah and Josiah. I like Elisha too, but would be concerned that it night wrongly and ignorantly be mistaken for a girl's name.

Elijah/Eliah is my top name!! just adore it;-) so my choice is obvious;-)

This is a great short list. I'm seriously considering Henry myself but live Josiah (West Wing fan!) & Elijah too. I agree Elisha may face gender teasing, sorry.

Elijah. Elisha looks too much like Alisha to me.
What about Isaac?

I wanted biblical too but ended up with Henry!

I wanted Jotham initially - I love it. Means Yaweh is perfect.

Thanks for all the opinions. We've decided to go with Josiah- that's if we have a boy!
