Hello,

We are ttc and I am trying to find a good website or app that we can use to help.

Some of them seem to want to connect to Facebook which is obviously a no no!

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

www.namedtogether.Co.uk

There are a lot of websites full of very inaccurate information.

These two are pretty accurate:

the name.com

britishbabynames.com

This book is very good and extremely reliable:
www.amazon.co.uk/Dictionary-First-Oxford-Paperback-Reference/dp/0198610602

Don't know what happened to my email, but the address should be

www.behindthename.com

nameberry.com/

NB Nameberry is American, with a rather different vibe from mainstream UK. Also, tends to define names with references to current celebrities/films/TV. That's not a criticism - we all have different tastes and opinions.

Baby Name Wizard. It's American, but it's the creme de la creme of baby name sites! Also www.nymbler.com.

nymbler.com is good at suggesting names based on ones you already like.

I have an app called 'Pregnancy+' on my iphone which is quite handy as it has the top 500 UK names for girls and boys, and top 100 lists for other countries too. You can mark ones you like as favourites and it makes a list of them. No meanings or anything I don't think, but useful for us to have a simple list somewhere that isn't lying around the house for nosy visitors to see! We usually pull it out and discuss it while driving :-) You can add other names to it as well.
