Frederick and Florence?

DS is Frederick (Freddie). Would have been Florence if he had been a girl. Am not pg, but I still love the name Florence. Would you immediately think of Tesco clothing if you heard of siblings Freddie and Florence (prob called Flossie when little)? And, if so, does it matter? Any suggestions of what else works well with Freddie? I also like Rosalie, but it's a bit close to Fred and Rose, which isn't great, and Josephine.

Florence just reminds me of my dnan. (But she was known as kitty by most ppl). Frederick is also my ddads middle name. They sound fine as siblings to me.
I also didn't realise that was the names of the f&f clothes label in tesco.

I'm expecting second baby and I have a Florence. Frederick is very tempting to me if it's a boy. I'm in the US though so I don't think it would matter too much. I think they go well together. Girls names I like are currently Clara, Lilly, Luna, Poppy and Willa

That's good that ppl didn't realise that was the Tesco clothing line. Go with Frederick dickie - I love it (although I am a little biased)!

I wouldn't do it. It would bother me. I'm not sure I'd point it out to you, but I would notice but keep my opinions to myself.

Same here Prima. I read the title and immediately thought why would anyone name their dc after tesco clothes. Made me wonder if there's a famiky anywhere with two sons called Mark and Spencer!

Lovely names OP and the Tesco thing wouldn't bother me. Their branding is all F&F now anyway, they've kind of lost the Florence & Fred thing I think. The Fred and Rose conotation might bother me more.

I've always thought that the tecso brand was Fred and Felicity!

I like both of those names, and I didn't think of Tesco immediately but I did think of it.

If you call them Freddie and Flora, nobody would make the connection, and if they did make the connection, well, it's not that bad is it? Children are still being called Stella and Flora, and Clio and Zoe (like the cars!). It's not something really embarrassing.

Did you ever read The Bobbsey Twins books? There was a Freddie and Flossie (Florence) in them.

We have a Frederick, and when pregnant with DC2, we agreed that although we both liked the name Florence, we couldn't use it, for fear of them sounding like they were sponsored by Tesco!

I know that the adult range is generally called F&F now, but doesn't some of their children's stuff still say Freddie and Flo on it?

Thanks for the honest feedback. Although I love the name Florence I think the Tesco thing is enough to put me off. DH thinks no one would know as its F&F on all the branding but I don't want to feel conscious of it when introducing DS and potential DD. Wonder whether Kate and Will were worried about the Asda connection when they named Prince George...
