I love Sylvie but DH hates it.

He likes Ruby or Holly - I don't particularly love or hate either of these.

The only name we both like is Olivia but next door neighbour just used this so that's out!!

Any suggestions? I have spent hours looking at names but can't find anything I love. Help!!

Eilidh is great!

Other Scottish options - Rowan, Mirrin, Mairead, Catripna, Mia, Kerlyn, Leila, (all friends of my Gaelic speaking dd2!)

Why is Olivia out I basis of next door neighbour.thats a bit daft to discount in that basis
Having said that I like all weegiemum suggested names

Really scottishmummy? You would use the exact same name as the child next door? There will only be 5 weeks between them. I think it's weird that you would even consider it.

I think its weird you're making such a fuss?to discount name on such tenuous basis

I would discount it because the neighbour might think it strange. She might think I'd copied, and I'd ideally want to avoid the neighbour ( justifiably or not ) thinking me odd.

Also, I think there are so many lovely names out there, it's no great loss to think again.

I love Eilidth. Also, Isla.

I think Holly is ok, but would avoid Ruby.

My favourite girls name is Ivy. No girls for me though.

Olivia was top uk girl name 2013it's popular.if i liked it id use it,irrespective of whether neighbour has
And lets face it,likely to be other Olivia in class or social circle
And no a name cant be copied from someone else,as they dont have dibs on it
