I really like Alice and Rose but can't seem to choose which one I like more. I'm not keen on Alice Rose together as Rose seems a popular with hyphenated names and everyone will assume her name is Alice-Rose. Which one would you choose for a first name Alice or Rose?

Definitely Rose for me. It is a beautiful, elegant and timeless name.

Both are lovely but I prefer Alice.

I have used Alice as dds middle name so I do love it, but Rose makes a brilliant first name. So Id have Rose Alice Surname.

I like Rosa, and it's Rose with an A for Alice at the end Grin

Rose - pure classic

PepperMallow · 09/08/2014 18:24

I like them equally. I really like Rosa (I realise that wasn't what you asked!). Have you tried calling each out around the house etc or take both into the delivery room with you and try each out for a day to see which fits best? Or, flip a coin, if you feel disappointed then your instinct is for the other one!

Both lovely and in same league. Any other names you could put in there?
Alice Matilda Rose
Alice Elizabeth rose
Alice Charlotte rose ?

ChickenMe · 09/08/2014 18:54

I prefer Alice because I find Rose a bit blah. However, I like Rosa, Rosalie, Rozalia and Rosanna if that helps.

Incidentally I wonder if the name Alison is ever going to be revived. It's interesting how some versions are more popular than others. Alicia - faddy, (and do you say Al-ee-see-a which I prefer or Al-ee-sha?) Alice- classic, Alison - dated?

Definitely Alice.
