Maisy Myra....opinions please!

so if we have a little girl I had originally decided (with Oh's approval) that I loved Maisy Jade. however his nan was called myra and I know how much he loved her amd was thinking to do something nice, how about calling her Maisy Myra? what do you think? I haven't suggested this to him yet as I didn't want to get his hopes up if I changed my mind xx

Myra Hindley comes to mind, although not sure if that's a problem or not.

I like Maisy (although prefer Maisie)

I love family names, I think it is really sweet but I also think the name Myra is dead because of Hindley. Perhaps spell it Myrah? Maisy Myra is my favourite of the two.

What about Maisy Mariah?

Not fond, sorry. Very cutesy and I don't like alliterative names, personally.

Objectively, Myra is a nice name, but I think it's still unusable in the UK.

I don't think it will matter to your child's peers, maybe the mums will go 'Myra?' but 1. so what and 2. it's only a middle name anyway.

I wouldn't use Myra. Awful connotations. For me anyway. What was his grandmother's middle name, maybe use that instead?

Maisy Jade sounds better, but equally it's lovely imo to have a middle name with a family link.

I don't think Myra as a mn is a problem with the Hindley woman, but I do think it sounds too twee and cartooney when put with Maisy.
Maisy Jade sounds better.

I don't think the Hindley thing matters. It's been a long time.

You could decide to stay on the safe side and go with Maisy Jade, but you don't know whether the next horrible criminal will be called Maisy, or Jade, or Olivia, or Penelope or any other name that people blithely call their children every day.

There was nothing the DH's gran could do about having the name, and presumably she had it before Myra Hindley made the news.
