what are your thoughts...looking for 2 dd names.

We have been liking Naomi and Phoebe.

Femi is Egyptian for love. DH really likes it and would swap for Phoebe...I'm not totally sure.

I'm not sure. How would you pronounce it?

It made me think of femur and the femeral artery. That might not be totally normal, though!

Beehatch · 19/07/2014 23:11

Femidom is what I get, sorry

Naomi and Phoebe are lovely though

isthisanacidtest · 19/07/2014 23:11

Feminax.

peppercold · 19/07/2014 23:11

Femi-dom...

Secretsquirrel13 · 19/07/2014 23:12

Makes me think of tampons.

familyfortunes · 19/07/2014 23:12

Sorry but it sounds like a feminine product.

Inthesleeplessnightgarden · 19/07/2014 23:13

I know a couple of people called Femi. They are both Nigerian men, so afraid I wouldn't go for it instead of Phoebe.

familyfortunes · 19/07/2014 23:14

Lol...definitely a no for me now!! Haha!
Just needed some sane thoughts to help me through my hormonal haze Grin

I've only ever come across it as a shortening of the boys name Olumfemi.

Sleepyfergus · 19/07/2014 23:17

Yep, there is a Femi at our work who is aNigerian man. Perhaps a rethink?!

CointreauVersial · 19/07/2014 23:20

I also thought it was an African male name - the Femi I know is.

burgatroyd · 20/07/2014 07:44

If you like the sound of Remi or Phoebe how about Fadilah?

BlackberryandNettle · 20/07/2014 12:12

I also know a man called Femi. I like Naomi best of the three

Gingerjv · 20/07/2014 12:59

I really like Femidom and Naomi! Phoebe makes me think of Phoebe character in the series "Friends". she was veeeery strange;-)) so i do not like this name much;-)

Allalonenow · 20/07/2014 13:08

I think Phoebe and Naomi are much better?

Allalonenow · 20/07/2014 13:09

Don't know where the ? came from Grin

SleepyPanda · 20/07/2014 13:28

Um, ginger, I'm not sure people were suggesting Femidom as an alternative name for the baby...more pointing out that Femi makes them think of the commonly used term for a female condom!

I didn't make that connection myself, but like PPs, the only Femi I've met has also been an African male.

Phoebe and Naomi are both lovely though, but not overused in my experience.

Sleepyfergus · 20/07/2014 13:29

Arf at baby Femidom!

Koothrapanties · 20/07/2014 13:29

Sounds like sanpro.

beijaflor · 20/07/2014 13:30

I love Femi - very pretty. Naomi and Phoebe are also great names.

Methe · 20/07/2014 13:30

I know a Nigerian lady called Femi.I quite like it!

Trondheim · 20/07/2014 13:33

Have met 2 male and 1 female femi so it can be either.

SueBridehead · 20/07/2014 16:40

I've taught a few Femis, both boys and girls, all Nigerian heritage.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 20/07/2014 16:49

Femi Kuti is the only one I've ever heard of and he was a man.
