Arse?

bunnyfrance · 19/07/2014 20:19

Eye-rye-chee?

Viviennemary · 19/07/2014 20:19

I think I'd pronounce it Eye Rees.

hollyisalovelyname · 19/07/2014 20:21

Eye reece

ProcessYellowC · 19/07/2014 20:24

I-rice

It's been nearly 24 hours and the OP hasn't come back! I'm going to get grumpy if we don't know soon!

UterusUterusGhali · 20/07/2014 11:12

Eye-Reece.

Irrice?

I'm being a massive hypocrite here, but as a rule of thumb I'd think twice about using a name a receptionist would stumble over when calling it out.

*My son's weird name isn't weird to me as loads of blokes in my family are called the same. And I thought it was pretty well known.

SecretNutellaFix · 20/07/2014 11:14

Iris, but would think that the parents were trying to be yoo-neek.

Gingerjv · 20/07/2014 13:04

I know how to pronounce Iris, but this name is really strange and i do not know even what to answer;-)

SanityClause · 20/07/2014 13:07

I would guess Ih-Rees (soft s sound) but could also imagine it being Ih-reach-eh.

McBear · 20/07/2014 13:12

Will OP ever come back?

littlejohnnydory · 20/07/2014 22:55

Eye-rice was my first thought.

I as in igloo)-rye-chee??

Mim78 · 20/07/2014 22:57

Eye-ree-che was my first thought.

Pangaea · 20/07/2014 23:02

Eye-Rice

Like paella with eyeballs.

Pangaea · 20/07/2014 23:04

Just had a second look, and now I'm thinking I-rick-kay.

It really looks more like you hit your head on the keyboard than a name though.

MrsCosmopilite · 20/07/2014 23:27

Eye-reece or Eye-rice.

twinjocks · 21/07/2014 21:22

Ih-ree-chay, but I bet it's Iris!!

Gugglebum · 22/07/2014 05:27

Ih-REES
or
Eer-EES (with an 's' not a 'z' sound)

Thumbwitch · 22/07/2014 05:33

Ih-reece.
Or
Ih-ree-chay.

But if you have to think that hard about it, I'd choose a different name, in all honesty.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/07/2014 05:37

???

Must admit that I tend to think on the lines that if you don't know how to pronounce a name, then you should choose a different name tbh.

InfiniteJest · 22/07/2014 05:41

Eye rice. I just said it out loud and it sounds truly awful with my Australian drawl.

(Also tried the slightly more fancy Eye Rye Chee, which also sounded awful).
