I have two girls already and really love their names. I am expecting no.3 (sex unknown) in November and am struggling with girls names.

I have already a Sally and a Clara.

I like Eliza, Esther, Martha, Lydia, Jessica. Would prefer to avoid names beginning with R. Any ideas?

I love lydia x

hlc123 · 17/07/2014 10:09

Like all those names but my favourite is Eliza

weatherall · 17/07/2014 11:44

I like Lydia the most out of those.

The others are trendy old lady names to me.

I like the P&P Lydia connection.

BlueChampagne · 17/07/2014 12:49

Lydia or Jessica from your list.

How about Tamsin or Belinda?

BlueChampagne · 17/07/2014 12:50

Or Juliet?

ashesandfire · 17/07/2014 13:23

I love Eliza and Lydia
Alice, Jemima, Esme, Louisa, Hannah, Sylvie?

mojojo29 · 17/07/2014 14:26

Out of those I like Eliza best. :) I love the name Elizabeth and Eliza is a great nickname, or even on its own! x

Mm I do like Eliza but am scottish and lots of people say aliza rather than Eliza and that bothers me. Martha standing out more currently although like Tamsin too.

I like all your list apart from Jessica. My favourite is probably Esther.

What about Etta or Iris?

Leeds2 · 17/07/2014 16:30

Not as keen on Martha. My fave is Lydia.

Legionofboom · 17/07/2014 17:54

In order of preference I would say

Martha
Eliza
Esther
Jessica

Lydia

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/07/2014 20:00

I wouldn't choose Martha with Clara, though I love both.

Lydia
Esther
Would you consider Elizabeth/Beth, rather than Eliza? Think it works better.
Jessica
Martha

burgatroyd · 17/07/2014 20:06

Your DDs names are gorgeous, I love Sally and Clara!

Eliza is very pretty, as is Lydia. Elise perhaps if you are concerned about it being pronounced Aliza?

HopefulHamster · 20/07/2014 00:14

I'd go with Esther to avoid having the same sound ending as one of the other names. So many end in y or a.

Castlelough · 20/07/2014 11:25

Lydia is lovely! I taught a 5 year-old Lydia a couple of years ago, and it was GORGEOUS on her!

But I went through a Martha phase - it is so soft and gentle and pretty and underused.

All your names are very lovely though!

Gingerjv · 20/07/2014 13:02

Esther is a wonderful name! love it! in my top list for not Penelope, Luna, Evangeline. Ava/Eva/Eve, Gwendoline, Persephone

PomPomPingPong · 20/07/2014 14:42

Sally Clara and Eloise
