As with my post about girls names I now have the boy list but I just cant see me having a boy have a gut instinct its a girl but I guess need back up. Here are our choices

Caleb Mark Anthony (or mark, Anthony other way round)
Riley Mark Anthony
Joshua Mark Anthony
Lennon Mark Anthony
Marcus Anthony

Mark is OHs name and want it somewhere, and Anthony is his dads name so would like them in some form of order.

Opinions please :)

Joshua Mark Anthony

OwlCapone · 15/07/2014 17:22

I don't like Lennon or Riley and I think Marcus is too close to Mark. Other than that, I'd switch the middle names to Anthony Mark.

OwlCapone · 15/07/2014 17:23

I think my favourite is Caleb.

katandkits · 15/07/2014 17:26

Joshua or Caleb in my opinion go best with the middle names. I think I would choose Joshua. Don't personally like Riley at all.

don't do Anthony Mark if the initials spell out JAM, RAM, CAM, LAM!!

I like Marcus.

I like Marcus best but wouldn't use it if DH was Mark.

I vote for Caleb Mark Anthony - fab name!

There's nothing wrong with those. It's not like it spells ARSE.

crazylady321 · 15/07/2014 18:09

Thanks, anyway. Well Riley has always been a favourite of mine and the only name OH agreed on to start with that and Joshua but im just worried they are so popular, but I do agree Riley doesnt go nice with the middle names. Lennon and Marcus are what hes chosen and are growing on me, Caleb I actually saw on here last night told him and he agreed :)

I like the name Marcus but, IMO, not with Anthony and not with a DH called Mark.

Legionofboom · 15/07/2014 18:28

I like Marcus best too but agree it is too close to Mark.

I would chose Joshua or Caleb.

I'm not keen on Riley and agree that it isn't the best flow with those middle names but if you both really like it I wouldn't let that put you off.

It's not like you're going to say his full name that often anyway, it's the first name that you're going to be saying countless times over the coming years so you may as well make sure you both like it.

Sophronia · 15/07/2014 18:34

Caleb Anthony Mark would be my pick.

weatherall · 15/07/2014 19:16

DS hada friend called Marc-Antony.

Lennon and Riley are a bit 'chavvy'.

florascotia · 15/07/2014 19:42

I vote for Joshua Mark Anthony or Marcus Anthony.
Both great!

I really, really don't want to offend Mumsnetters but I have never liked Caleb because it means 'dog' . I have a lovely dog of whom I am very fond but I wouldn't name a baby after her species.

RainbowB7 · 15/07/2014 21:50

Joshua

crazylady321 · 15/07/2014 22:05

Hate it when people brand names "chavvy"

Caleb means dog ha, Ive found out my girl choice has an horrible meaning too need to start checking name meanings

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/07/2014 22:29

I thought the "Caleb means dog" thing was an all too literal transliteration of the Hebrew meaning - loyal.

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/07/2014 22:33

Anthony Mark would make the names less synonymous with erm Mark Anthony and Cleopatra.

SueBridehead · 16/07/2014 06:05

I love Caleb or Joshua.

I think the meaning of Caleb is faithful and loyal. In the Bible story he is so loyal to God that this is symbolised by a dog hence the connection. I like dogs so this wouldn't put me off anyway!

Marcus.
Definitely not Riley or Lennon.

crazylady321 · 16/07/2014 09:41

Im also a dog lover so tbh im not put off. I think I am going to push towards Caleb as long as OH doesnt change his mind again
