What do you think of Francesca?

DH and I have a short list of 5, and I think Francesca is going to be the one. The list in my order of preference (DH in brackets) is:

Brooke (4)
Francesca (5)
Caitlyn (3)
Skye (1)
Charlotte (5)

As our #1s don't go together we can't use the other as a middle name so I think both are out.

Caitlyn we like, but I hate "Katy" however it's spelt and I think it could be a problem.

I like lottie as a nn for Charlotte, DH likes charlie.

So I think it's going to be Francesca Skye.

What do you think?

As a Francesca I love my name I can fault dm for a lot but not her taste in names. (I'm francesca Mercedes)

I have a Francesca Elizabeth .

She mostly goes by Francesca but sometimes gets called Frannie/Francie.

Francesca is beautiful. I have a soft spot for the nn Franny I think it is adorable.

I also have a Francesca (Hannah) and I always get complimented on the name. She is very much a Francesca and very rarely goes by anything else. It's a beautiful classic name

The two Francescas I know are shortened to Chest. Lovely name. I also like Frances.

I don't like Francesca, but I think it's because the only one I know goes by Fran/Franny which I HATE, and I can't detach the nickname!

How about Kailyn/Cailyn instead of Caitlyn. Similar sounding but reduces the risk of Kate/Katy.

I know a Francesca who goes by the nickname Francie (said Fran-see)- which just suits her perfectly...

My daughter is Francesca. She is 19 and loves her name! She is ches/chessie at home and franks/Frankie with her friends. I don't regret it for a second.

Francesca Skye is lovely and I think Caitlyn Skye would work too. I know several Caitlyn's and no-one ever calls them Katy so I don't think this would be a problem.

Francesca is a fab name. (Not biased at all by the fact it is my name).
